Finally saw 300 tonight. Watched it with uber prudish Best Friend after I picked her up from church (Good Friday mass) so I felt all weird watching the sex scene with her. I think I'd have been more comfortable with my parents. She hated it. *eyeroll*
It's almost five am, so no review, except to say:
1. Why did they need Rodrigo Santoro anyway? He's CGIed to the gills.
2. I thought of my fifth grade history teacher the whole time (except for the parts with the sex and me thinking random silly thoughts about bra sizes in Sparta) and I hope he's still alive to enjoy the movie.
3. Are we quoting Toby Keith now? :D
4. If I were a guy, I'd come out of the theater with an insane urge to get in shape and join the military. As soon as I got home, I'd sit down in front of my laptop, eat some nachos and post to LJ about how awesome it is to be a manly man.
5. One day... One day I'm going to unleash the pomposity and write that post about heroes and why Fairy Talez Rulez, geese bitches!!! I am such a storytelling geek and I despise postmodernism, though I appreciate some of the noir humor in it.
6. No, seriously. Xerxes? I've seen pictures of Xerxes made my people who worshipped him as a god. He has a long beard and a beer belly. Which reminds me...
7. Flab is illegal in Sparta.
8. I have a girl crush on Leonidas' wife. She's MY Queen.
9. This movie might finally break small breasts into the mainstream.
Noble Beautiful Spartan Women= As
Distasteful Syrian Whores= Double Ds
Coincidence? I think not. I don't even feel discriminated against or nothing... ;)
300,
