I weighed in today and found I've lost about 1.5 pounds so far. It's not much, but it's a sign I'm headed in the right direction. The process will be slow-going, but at least it's going at all in the first place.
My mission for today before I head off to visit with my Japanese fam is to figure out how to read Japanese nutrition labels. I've already figured out that ナトリアム (natoriamu) is sodium, and that's only because it's generally the only item measured in milligrams. I think たんぱく (tanpaku) might be fat, but I'm more interested in finding out how to read "protein" and "sugar". My longterm goal is to increase the former and moderate the latter. So off I go on my late-morning research kick!
