Last night, Emily, my sister, and I went to the midnight premiere of the final Harry Potter movie. We all had to get up early this morning, and then this evening the family and I are heading to visit my grandparents (to check on them, sort of, after my grandma was in the hospital), so we're pretty pooped...but it was so worth it. The experience was

i seriously don't know how you made it through work, the anticipation for DHpt2 was KILLING me. i'm not sure how i made it through the day without anyone giving me a sedative.
& i seriously LOVE THE SHIRT YOU MADE!!! and that your sister dressed up!! i just had my hp shirt from hot topic and some people had tshirts but no one dressed up, but i suppose no one took their stuff with them on vacation =/
i'm currently obsessed with avpm. i hope you sang along and got everyone around you to join in haha.
you have to let me know what you thought of the movie. i thought it was fantastic! but i haven't reread the book in forever so i couldn't be like "Oh well they did this wrong and this" although i did hate that they messed up how you get the room of requirement to appear. he just stood in front of it and it appeared. even i remember that after all these years. but anyways i'm just waiting to go see it again because once is not enough
(ohhhh btw this is sara, i have an lj too! :D)

I was fine at work as long as I wasn't thinking about Harry Potter! The shift would be flying by and then I would suddenly remember the movie and it was like, I am never going to get out of here!
There were so many people in our theater dressed up! We had a scarily accurate Professor Trelawney aside from the adorable Fred and George. It was really neat.
Haha, we sang along, but unfortunately no one else seemed to have any idea what we were singing.
I loved it too! I reread most of the last book fairly recently - I got up to the battle and just did not want to go through the emotional trauma, so I'm not quite sure what they changed either. Aside from Fred's death, they definitely showed it in the book.
I think the movie was really well done. My only issues are, I seem to remember Harry and Voldemort having some epic speeches during the very end of the battle, and I wish they had kept that. Also, I had some issue with the Prince's Tale - they completely left out Snape calling Lily a Mudblood and the fact that he contributed to the end of their friendship as well. The movie just made Snape look like some poor victim, which just isn't quite accurate. But Alan Rickman was so amazing during that part, that it didn't bother me too much.

Oh my gosh I really wish I had seen them! Or just had people dressing up at mine. But Fred & George....*cries*
HOW DO THEY NOT KNOW AVPM!?! I feel like it's a crime not to know it, just because it's so funny and entertaining. they are so missing out!!
I really want to read the book again now and I probably will and then I can go about nitpicking at the movie. But omg, I hate the way the portrayed Snape as this tragic hero figure when THAT'S NOT WHO HE IS. I absolutely HATE Snape and after all his scenes, even I was feeling a little bad AND THAT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. Everyone who hasn't read the books doesn't know that he called Lily a mudblood and everyone seems to forget the fact that he was a DEATH EATER and did some unspeakable things. But of course everyone just forgets this because he loved Lily. 'Cause that makes every bad thing he's ever done okay. And if Neville was chosen to be the chosen one, he would not have been a double agent, not at all, even JKR said this herself. All this Snape love makes me sick. Especially when it's all over my tumblr dash. Blegh.
