The end of an era
Well, today was my last Taft swim meet. It was bittersweet. I cut 7 seconds off my IM and 4 seconds off my back stroke :) but it was the culmination of an amazing adventure. Now that I think back on the day that I tried out for swim team so long ago, I don't think I ever sucked at anything more than I sucked at swimming. The hours of practice, sore muscles and chlorine smell now seem worth it and I've never felt like I've accomplished so much. I won't be able to continue swimming in college because Michigan (yes, I'm going to U of M) has one of the finest swim teams in the country but I hope to continue intramurally or at least just recreationally (wouldn't want to gain that freshman 15!). Anyways, I'm sad that it's over but all good things must come to an end. It's been fun.
