I know that everyone finds my obsession with Michael Phelps funny and a little weird. So, what i am about to talk about might be dismissed as me being funny and a little weird but I truly hope that u will all take this very seriously.
I hope that everyone out there, (my friends, everyone at Taft, teenagers all over the country) won't get drunk at prom this year. But, I realize that i could give u all the statistics in the world and most of u out there will just say "yeah, yeah" and proceed to drink at prom. So, this is my attempt to convince you all not to drink at prom. (And i am doing this because i love all of my friends and i don't want any of them to get killed or kill someone else in an accident.)
As some of u already know, Michael Phelps was arrested last November for drunk driving. (Yes, I still look up to him for his amazing swimming talent and incredibly hard work but this is a giant black mark on his record.) Part of his sentence was to speak to students at 3 local schools about not making the same mistake he did. His third appearance was at Parkside High School where he spoke to seniors about having a sober prom. If u won't listen to me, I hope you will listen to him.
Here are links to articles/ videos of his appearance at Parkside high school. read/watch them and please take them to heart.
