I decided to go ahead and do both of these since they come from the same show for me. It gets a little long in my discussion, but I think you can all handle the reading.

Day 19 - Best TV show cast

I have to say the iCarly cast here, which might seem strange considering that of all of the casts that I'm even slightly familiar with, I would pick this one that I don't spend a lot of time learning things about. I just think they seem to genuinely be close to one another, and be genuinely good people. (Wow. Let's try to not use the word genuinely again, shall we?) Even Miranda Cosgrove, who seems a little aloof at times, actually looks to be close to her costars. They're also all really talented. I think you get a lot of people who are kind of one notes on children's shows, people who won't really get to do much once they are adults, or people who think they're more talented than they actually are, but I think everyone in the cast has a good future ahead of them outside of Nickelodeon. And I love that all of them try their best to interact with their fans via social networking mediums. And they all try to set a good example for the younger viewers of the show. And they all have so much fun on set. And... I think I've given you enough reasons, yeah?

Day 20 - Favorite kiss

Seeing as how my favorite scene was Joey and Pacey's first kiss in Dawson's Creek, you would think that would be here too, right? Nope. Not so much. My favorite is actually Sam and Freddie's first kiss on iCarly because it is what a first kiss is supposed to be. It's awkward instead of romantic and it isn't too overdone. You know, in all the shows where they show two teens supposedly kissing for the first time, it's mindblowing and just perfect, but that isn't always (or hardly ever) realistic. I love the edge of nervousness in the scene, and the way both of them look at each other, then at the floor, the way neither of them actually touch one another except for the kiss itself, all of it. It's one of those things that just worked perfectly. Everything about the scene just clicked. Hmm... maybe I should have picked this as my favorite scene. Haha.

Of course, I think the reason it works so well is because the two actors were pretty obviously nervous about doing the scene as well. Everything about them is so much stiffer in the scene than any other one they've done together, and it lends well to the events that unfold. I don't know how well this will work for scenes in the future though. In some of the future clips (iLost My Mind promo, I'm looking at you) I've seen, they still look very stiff and awkward together. Well, Jennette McCurdy does at least. Nathan is the one who actually looks completely at ease. She seems very uncomfortable with any kind of romantic storylines in general. It makes me wonder how she'll fare with acting projects post iCarly, because other than her being uncomfortable kissing Nathan Kress (of course, this could just be a problem with romantic storylines with him since they're such good friends), she's pretty much the best of the bunch on the show, but that isn't what this post is about.
