Hm. Many things to think about.

I've only read RPF in three fandoms. And only during the last 6 months. So I'm new to this phenomenon.

Merlin: Most of what I've read has been bouncy boys being adorably sweet together. Written by very enthusiastic young women.

ST: Mostly AOS. Usually a lot of serious discussion of being 30-something, not having a real goal in their personal life/suddenly falling for a costar, etc. Seems to be written mostly by mature women.

Torchwood: JB and Scott living their 'out' lives. Sex. Mixing things up with a friend or friends, from time-to-time. Everybody writes Torchwood.

Of the three, Torchwood seems the most 'real' because JB is so open, and there is a tonne of stuff about him readily available. You only have to do a little research to get a believable JB. Well, and if you're a talented writer to begin with.

Amanda, I think your experiment worked.

Nick, Carolyn, I thought the story was brilliant. I know it wasn't really you. But it left me with the same kind of feeling as if we'd been thrown together unexpectedly (maybe in a long line waiting to get coffee? Lalala) and shared a few minutes together talking.

Yeah.

I quite liked it.

I don't read the 'rags' (Enquirer and the like). Don't watch TV. Don't twitter or follow 'stars' on the internet. My one RPF was a whole 15 minutes with JB and Scott, and I based it off what I'd read in JB's first book. (Which is highly entertaining and almost slapstick fun!)

Lord, I think I've rambled far too long...

Thinking about making some cornbread. I have REAL butter.

I haven't read Anything Goes! I read the second. I should start to do things forwards, someday.

I think you might have some good observations in there. I think intent of the author is a bog thing, and age probably plays into that, too.

I TOO HAVE REAL BUTTER. BUT NO CORNMEAL. STILL, I COULD DO SOMETHING WITH THIS BUTTER.
