Oh man, this is exactly it. This is pretty much exactly what I wanted to see when I came up with the prompt and it's awesome, and... I do like Ianto being unsure about it all and needing the emergency call time with Gwen and hell that whole beginning of, "how do you talk to a kid?" ... it did make me think "hey, that's what people feel like when they are parents, maybe I wouldn't totally fail as a Dad. Or yknow ... I'd be very Ianto-ish at it, really."

Loved it as a timestamp for Gold Dust because you know the scene with him and Evan on the couch is one of my favorites in the fic and yeah, this was awesome. Great touch about Ianto's jealousy there, actually, re: the relationship with both Lisa and Jack, and that even though they are happy and just fine with it being the three of them, there's still stuff like that going on.

Evan sitting on the sofa and reading a book and saying "It's the phone" while Ianto is colouring is grand. Also the two conversations at once and yeah, I love Ianto in this for being unsure and being jealous and yknow, being human and not all perfect and shit. Yeah.

Also, love your art for this :)

There was a final scene with tipsy on champagne Jack talking to Ianto while Lisa puts the kid ot bed, but I skipped out on it. It's good where it ends.

Yeah, the brass knuckles are way LOL actually, like ... omg. And yeah, I can see you in this. I just called C and was like, "omg, mandr's fic makes me want to adopt a kid." Haha I don't think C wants another one.

I can see why you cut the final scene because it does work like this and actually, yeah, it feels right ending at that point rather than going on with something else.

Enjoyed it a lot because it's, yknow, it's kidfic that feel real yknow and because Ianto is awesome in his, "I'm so not comfortable with this, but dude, my coworkers are starting to LOL and/or evil-eye me, so I better, damn, here we go" and yeah, I mean, he loves his kid but it's like ... an alien, yknow. Kids are aliens, man.

I do totes agree w/ that! They should all work in my office building! There are these three pitbulls downstairs that, omg, sweetest things ever and so happy to see me and I love them soooooooooooooooooo much!

Or just in general owning them and not training them properly. They have certain traits that have to be handled a certain way, because they can be very dangerous dogs! Pit bulls!
