long time no update... since i last updated i have completed summer reading books # 6, 7, and 8! whoa. for people who want recommendations, here: i read "cause celeb" by helen fielding (she did the bridget jones books and olivia joules) pretty good, a little weird, but as always a happy and empowering ending. next was "falling angels" by tracy chevalier (who wrote girl with a pearl earring) - it was good, but very depressing. finally, # 8 was "mr. darcy takes a wife: pride and prejudice continues" by linda berdoll. amazing. i am so completely in love with the story of elizabeth bennett and mr. darcy. P&P is def my all-time favorite book, so this was a really cool experience, HOWEVER... parts of this book are pretty much softcore porn. which was actually kinda nice to read because it was done in a very romantic way. so beautiful. it got me excited to see the new P&P movie. but it also left me incredibly lonely and love starved. of course i am now going back and re-reading my favorite parts because that is how much of a dork i am.
so now for what everyone REALLY wants to hear about... THE EVENT OF THE SUMMER... AMY'S 21ST IN MANHATTAN! the weekend was amazing. got there on friday around 3 (after cutting all my hair off at nirvana! woo hoo for my short hair!) so me and amy hung out, i gave her her presents and stuff. then we went on errands and then had dinner in union square! we ate at republic, this trendy asian noodle place and i had a coconut martini sooo good. then we walked around some more window shopping, then had some tasti delite! after that we went back to the apartment and i took a shower while amy and her roomate went to pick up her friend from the chinatown bus... the next morning we went down to the seaport and had coffee while watching the boats/tanned... after we did more errands and then it was time to get ready! people started coming, it was great! then we had a quick bite to eat at the seaport and more people came! we had cocktails in the apartment, then headed to PLAN B in the village. it was amazing... we were escorted right to our private room where ester our cocktail waitress brought us any drinks we wanted! soooo good. we danced on the public dance floor and then chilled in the red room! woo hoo... by 3am jen had thrown up in a gift bag and we were on our way back to the apartment to sleep it off! i'm off to brownies now for allison's 21st... wish me luck it's my first time there!!! i havent been around this many straight boys for a loooooong time. how refreshing.
