SUMMER UPDATE!

May 23, 2005 20:13

I KNOW! you all probably thought i got rid of this, but NO! i did not. i just got super lazy with it. but now that it is summer and i'm home i should be able to update regularly again. so yay.

so i am home for the summer. it's weird. i think also since i am thinking of next year and being a senior it is especially weird... but here i am home... missing my friends like WHOA (especially u saro since we havent really gone a day without seeing each other for a looong time) ...and im missing manhattan, and guild...

socially, this summer hasnt really felt like it started. i havent seen ANYONE. i mean frankie and brian are in NYC which i am kinda used to anyway... other friends are just MIA or not calling me or whatever but i'm sure ill see them soon... it's just so weird to go from seeing good friends everyday to being alone. but i have also been really busy trying to work and job hunt at the same time. i came back here and started baby-sitting and working at the NCC the day after i moved out. then my sister was here too so i spent a day in manhattan with her which was great but exhausting with the train and all... i have to admit i love travelling though.

i sang @ the pre-school graduation on friday and then went out with my mom and the teachers she works with which was actually really fun! i also sang at church this weekend... i really wish i could find some kind of steady gig singing cause i do love it so much... anyway... tomorrow is my interview @ the walnut street theatre for a position as an administrative intern... i'm SOOOO nervous. i REALLY want this. it isnt even a paid position, but it would look sooooooo good on my resume and i really wanna get my foot in the door down there and meet some real professionals. they are offering a travel stipend which is better than nothing. if the stupid lady from the arden theatre would ever call me i could schedule an interview with her too... she wants me for 1 day a week which would be cool since they do so much new stuff there and it is very "young" and innovative. then of course there is the part i really dont wanna start doing... looking for a restaurant job for nights/weekends... ughhh i know i have to start somewhere but i wish i could just have some free time!!!! im still not giving up on singing weddings and funerals though, and the baby-sitting gigs keep coming in so it looks like i am doing a million differents things in one summer again. i hope i can make some money..... ahhhhhhh

ok i vented enough now... if anyone is around this summer PLEASE call me, i feel like i have no one around here these days and i know it is just the beginning of the summer but i miss human contact already!!!!!

PS- read my first book of the summer - "girl with a pearl earring" - AMAZING! i highly recommend it, especially if ur someone who likes jane eyre type novels... sooooo good. moving on to "suzanne's diary for nicholas" by james patterson if u wanna keep up with the amanda summer book club.
