Writer's Block: 9/11

Sep 11, 2011 13:57

I was at home. I worked in a government building (the kind where you needed a clearance to so much as walk up to the doors) and was about to start my midnight shift. So it was a Tuesday. I was trying to get some extra sleep and turn my body around from day to night shifts when my co-worker called me. She said, "Are you watching the news?" The answer was no. Then she said, "Turn on NBC, we're under attack!" I shuffled downstairs and flipped through the stations, trying to find NBC. It took me a minute to realize that every station was playing the same thing. I sat glued to my tv for most of the day, shaking. I called my dad, scared for some reason they (and I had no idea who they were) would target his work. I tried calling my aunt to see if she heard from my cousin in NY. Luckily no on in my family was in danger.
