I Think I'm Channeling Martha Stewart

I just finished the final coat on Meg's room today. It was originally this dark sponged-on dark jungle green with a wallpaper border. It took 3 coats of primer just to cover it all up, not to mention the scraping of the wallpaper...UGH. I just want to choke the person who had the bright idea of doing that. I also painted my hallway/entryway today. It went from a shit brown color to a nice yellowish-green earthy color. I still have to redo the trim, but it looks so much better and brighter. Next on the list are the stairwell and upstairs hallway and then Jake's room. We have company coming in from out of town next weekend and I want the house in immaculate condition. Rick has a big important meeting with some big wigs in the comic book industry and I want to make a good impression. We are hosting a cookout for these folks as well. On the menu so far: BBQ'd ribs, homemade potoato salad w/fresh cilantro, spinach/bacon salad and a lemon banana tart. I just hope the weather holds up or else I'll be grilling in the rain.

Speaking of food, do any of you have a cool idea for an appetizer? It must be something quick and easy to prepare, but also tasty. Finger-food(s) would be even better. I usually make pico-de-gallo and serve it with tortilla and pita chips, but it's somewhat time consuming to prepare. I'm wide open for suggestions.
