Bonjourno!
We have arrived safe and sound back to Seattle. The trip back from Roma was a little too exciting for my taste.
First the Roma airport blows - trying to find out how to check in and then to find our gate, it was miserable. Not to mention extremely uncomfortable, there was no seating. Eventually we got our bags checked and boarded the airplane.
Once arrived in Heatherow, London airport, we made a MAD DASH across several terminals (including a bus ride) to a far-out terminal on the other side of the airport (tarmac & all). Our plane from Roma had to circle London for 30 - 40 minutes. By the time we landed, we had 15 minutes to get to our next flight.
After yelling at Heathrow staff and being threatened to not get on a plane ever again, they reluctantly expedited us through Security and the likes. We made it on our plane to Seattle, which was apparently delayed over an hour.
The 9 hour flight back to Seattle wasn't bad. We had On Demand television, so I watched a few movies. The system is a bit quirky, but it suited my needs. There was no one next to us, so we had 3 seats to ourselves -- talk about roomy!
Ty & I made it safely back to US Soil. However, our bags did not. I guess they did not make the transfer from the Roma flight to the Seattle flight. Our luggage is in limbo somewhere -- supposedly British Air has a tracking system, which seems pretty useless.
Our trip to Italy was amazing. I'm bummed we don't have anything 'cept what we carried on. British Air claims we'll have our bags in a few days, as they apparently know where the luggage is. Here's hoping.
Pictures will follow eventually ... they're on another computer. Right now, I'm just settling back in, happy to be home.
Woke up promptly around 5am feeling refreshed and ready to start my day ... LoL! Going out later with Mom to look at a Morgan/ASB cross -- we'll see. He's only 5, so I'm skeptical.
Well, one hour until our prime breakfast joint opens.
Ciao!
