Today's leakings from my brain, television & fandom edition.

Because no one wants to hear what's leaking from my brain about this chapter I'm finishing, or this chapter I'm converting into an article, or about how I want to punch my students with sporks. So moving on to television-fun-tiems.

1) I did not need this article. At all. No one needs to be encouraging my fantasy life in which I write XF3 and then end up BFFs with David Duchovny. (We drink a lot and talk about literary theory and watch basketball and objectify women. It's awesome. In my mind.)

2) I wish I could love Glee less ambivalently. I really wish it would live up to the potential of its casting: you have potentially interesting characters of color, queer characters, and disabled characters, all of whom repeatedly get shunted to the side to make room for the boring white leads. And there's the sense that the subtext of the whole first-half of the season was "bitches are out to get you with their vaginas," which is really some tired old bullshit right there.

And then they pull out a piece of epic win like this:

(Non-US-ians: google "sue sylvester vogue" and you'll probably find it.)

I don't know, y'all. I'm torn. But you'll note I'm watching. Sigh.

3) DOCTOR WHO COMES BACK THIS SUNDAY HELL YEAH. I've been seeing pleased reaction posts from UK/Euro/Buccaneer-American flisters in various places, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

4) Fringe: I love you. A lot. Thank you for returning in time for Caprica's end, so I still have one piece of TV to get absurdly fangirly about every week.

5) Does anyone know if "the Nick Jr. lineup" is a Yuletide fandom? And what would I have to do to get it to be such? Because I could write so much Backyardigans fic, it's not even funny. Plus, Isk would totally illustrate it. He's gotten very interested in coloring lately.
