Glad you like it! Yeah, I think a lot of people will have all of this already. (It's set up to DL track by track, so if you're missing one or two you can just grab them.)

When my dad was putting together the playlist for my wedding reception (he's an inveterate mix-tape maker, I gave him a bunch of songs and he added some of his own and arranged them), he actually called me and said "I'm having a lot of trouble. There's too much REM on this for me to space them well."

there's a way in which the complexity, the never-quite-enunciated truths, the twisty-turny-ness, and the obfuscation that are entwined in R.E.M. songs suit the tone and spirit of XF.

agreed. they are definitely close to a perfect match.

I can't be the other person for whom The X-Files is a story about resistance against powerful forces seeking to oppress you, can I? It's the revolutionary in me; it comes out with some regularity.

hahaha! word. though i don't think i could reasonably call myself a revolutionary. perhaps just a die hard non-participator. but the tag line was "resist or serve" so i figure i'm covered. *g*

and as kukasaseksi (whose name is notably harder to spell than yours) has already said, you had me at Losing My Religion. if i had to pic five xf tracks, that would be one of them, no doubt there. it's iconic but still subtle and complex. how often does that happen.

I'd forgotten how much I loved REM. Cheers for this - downloading now and I shall listen on my way to work tomorrow.

Oh yes. If there was a soundtrack to my experience of the 90s, it was R.E.M.
