Going to the Beach!
Today we are going out to Kent Park Beach. The kids are so excited! We will see how excited after they see what a rather small place it is, but in Iowa, you take what you can get :D. We are going with the Barkers and a few other friends.
I also have to run out to the school district central office and drop off my "intent to homeschool" paper work. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, it is due there tomorrow. It will be nice to have that done.
The local schools start tomrrow, so we are going to pull out our workbooks and get going. I hope to finish Abby's 1st grade work-books by the end of Sept, and start her 2nd grade things. We have already been studying Monarch butterflies and their life cycle for the past couple of weeks, so technically school has already started. And Abby has been doing math worksheets, but she thinks they are just for fun. That is what I love about homeschooling, my kids are learning and they don't even realize they are in "school"!
