Summary: Ueda’s family lives in a dangerous time, his half brother, Ryo, have evil plans and his life is in danger; will his new guardians be able to protect him?

It was almost seven o’clock when a cab pulled up in front of an old house, two guys stepped out and looked at the house; the guys were shy holding hands, like a new couple.
The front door on the house was made of old wood and had several holes and scratches in it, most of the windows were either broken or covered up by newspapers, the roof looked as if it were going to collapse any minute.

Ueda looked up at Jin and asked, “are you sure it’s here?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s really creepy…”
Jin smiled, “Don’t worry, I’m here, nothing is going to happen.”
He grabbed Ueda’s hand tighter and walked up the steps to the door, he knocked once and waited; nothing happened for several minutes, Ueda could hear the wind blow in the trees around them.
“Maybe she’s not home? Shouldn’t we go and-”
The door suddenly opened with a squeaking noise and surprised Ueda so much that he felt like his heart were going to explode.
“Hello?” Jin called through the door, but there were no one inside, he shrugged his shoulder and lead Ueda into the dark house.
The door slowly closed behind them and they stood alone in the darkness of the hallway, Ueda could hear their breaths echo in the walls; everything seemed so empty and cold, Jin took another step into the darkness.
“To your left, is a door, walk through it,” said a voice, Ueda looked around in shock but he couldn’t see anybody.
“Are you sure this is safe?”
“Of course, I’ve heard about this woman before, she likes to trick people and make them scared. See! Here’s the door.”
To their left were a door, just like the voice had said, Jin opened the door and walked inside; the room were lightened up by at least a hundred candles that stood on chairs, tables, shelf’s and even on the floor.
There were no windows or paintings and the candles made moving shadows all around them, in the middle of the room stood a round table with three chairs around it; candles were lit around the corners of the table but in the middle, it was empty.
A woman’s voice said, “Please, sit down.”
Ueda and Jin went over to the table and sat down, Ueda looked uncomfortable around and whispered to Jin, “Are you sure this is safe?”
Jin smiled and took his hand, “Trust me, nothing is going to happen.”
“And he’s totally right,” said a woman’s voice.
Ueda and Jin jumped in their seats, in front of them stood a woman, they hadn’t seen her come in; she wore black clothes and wore a lot of jewelry, her hair were long and black and pearls were braided into her hair.
On her forehead was some kind of tattoo that looked as if it were made of gold, her eyes were bright blue and her bangs fell messily around her face and covered most of her right eye.
As soon as Ueda saw her, he immediately thought about the woman from the movie Eragon.
The woman came closer to the table and said with a soft voice, “I’m Layla.”
Jin and Ueda nodded and were about to say their own names when Layla moved her hand up in a gesture to be silent, “I do not need your names, your names and where you are from, are no use to me.”
She sat down in front of Ueda and Jin and looked at each of them, “what can I do for these confused souls?”
Jin said, “Is it true, that before this life, we’ve lived before but just as someone else?”
Layla smiled and leaned back in her chair, the pearls in her hair made funny jingle noises.
“It’s true, when your body dies, your soul lives on, you will be given another body and another life after several years or even decades; but you will not have any memories of your previous lives.”
Jin rested his head in his hands and closed his eyes, “Is it possible, to regain some of those lost memories?”
“It’s very unusual, usually the soul cannot regain anything that is already lost, but with some help, it is possible.”
“But is it normal to be able to regain some of those lost memories on your own? Like you suddenly start dreaming about things from your previous life?”
“In that case, it is not so normal, when the soul looses its memories, it is not supposed to get them back afterwards; but sometimes, some souls have different destinies than others, where they need to regain their long lost memories to be able to live on.”
Jin looked up, “We need help to get our memories back.”
Layla stood up while watching them; it was like her eyes went right through to their inner souls.
“It is rare magic you’re looking for, and that rare magic I posses. But when you gain something, a prize must be paid.”
Ueda almost jumped up, “I’m willing to pay anything!”
Layla shook her head, “money have no power in the worlds of the undead and immortals, no, the prize is something entirely different; but I cannot tell you what it will be, it is different from soul to soul. It could be you will die earlier, or you might never come back once your dead or you could loose the ones you love.”
Jin grabbed Ueda’s hand, “We’re ready to pay the prize.”
Layla went over to one of her shelf’s and grabbed an old scroll and brought it back to the table, she rolled it out in the centre and placed a few candle’s on the sides so the paper wouldn’t move; then she grabbed a handful of strange stones from her pocket and threw them on the table, they scattered randomly around on the paper.
The paper were very old and had many different types of symbols on it, it looked like an ancient writing.
Layla sat down again and closed her eyes, her hands were moving over the paper and the stones and she started to murmur something that Ueda and Jin couldn’t understand.
Suddenly, the stones on the paper started to glow, they glowed in bright blue colors; Ueda gasped as he felt the whole room were shaking and vibrating, candles started to shake and fall down the shelf’s and a table in a corner crashed to the floor too.

Layla’s voice got louder and louder until she were almost yelling, her voice were like drums in their heads, they could feel the blood pump faster and faster in their veins; Jin grabbed Ueda’s hand and tried to look at him, but Layla suddenly opened her eyes and Jin were forced to look at her.
Her whole being glowed and her ice cold eyes glowed and look straight at Jin and Ueda, she stood up and it was like her body was filled with so much power that she could break the world.
She moved her hands wildly around her while chanting in the ancient tongue, the pearls in her hair jingled crazy and her clothes were being pulled at by invisible winds from all directions.
Jin were shaking so much that he were afraid that his spine might snap, he looked for a second at Ueda and saw he had the same look on his face; they were both scared and didn’t know what was going on.
The stones on the table suddenly started to move and they formed a circle in the middle of the table, from the paper flew a light beam up and into the roof.
“Look into the light!” Yelled Layla in their heads, she hadn’t said it out loud but in their minds, because she was still chanting in that strange language.

Jin dared not to, but a force pulled in him and he was forced to look into the bright light.
It was like a lightning had been shot through his body, there were no pain but he could feel the electricity; images raced through his head and he couldn’t make them stop.
He grabbed his head with both hands and yelled out, the images -or memories- were flowing through him so fast that it hurt, tears fell down his face and he begged for them to stop.
Everything suddenly ended, the pain was gone, the light had disappeared and Jin was still sitting in his chair; nothing was moving, Layla were sitting in her chair and were looking someplace else.
Everything was the same, except that Jin could remember every detail from his previous life, including his feelings for Ueda.
“Ueda!”
Jin turned to where Ueda were supposed to sit, but his chair was empty, Jin stood up and saw Ueda were laying on the floor.
Ueda were curled up into a ball and he were holding his head between his hands, his whole body were shaking; a wave of emotions hit Jin and he needed to use all his strength to keep himself from jumping on top of Ueda and fuck him in front of Layla.

Jin crouched down beside Ueda and whispered, “Ueda? Are you okay?”
Ueda looked up at Jin with pained eyes, tears were streaming down his pale was, he tried to dry them off and look away; Jin gently lifted Ueda up on his knees and pulled him in to his chest, Ueda grabbed Jin’s shirt and sobbed, “I-I remember…! I-I remember e-everything!”
“I do too…”

Layla dried off the sweat on her forehead and looked at the couple on the ground, she had seen their memories too, she were filled with emotions too; those two had gone through so much pain in their past life, so much agony and sorrow, and it hadn’t ended yet. The prize still had to be paid, but even she, did not know what it would be.

“I-I remember e-everything! With the o-others, R-Ryo, the fight…everything,” whispered Ueda into Jin’s hair.
Jin rocked Ueda slowly back and forth and whispered soothing words for him, “its okay, I saw it too…It was a long time ago, different bodies, different time, you do not need to worry about this now, I’m here, I’ll protect you.”
“Oh, Jin…” Ueda looked up into Jin’s eyes, as soon as all his memories had returned; he realized how much he actually loved Jin, his dark hair and his beautiful eyes, everything about him.
Ueda moved closer to Jin and placed a soft kiss on his lips, Jin closed his eyes and leaned forward and pressed his lips to Ueda’s; Jin ran his fingers through Ueda’s hair and deepened the kiss, Ueda moaned and pressed his body closer to Jin’s

“Excuse me.”

Ueda and Jin jumped up and pulled away from each other, they looked flushed at each other and turned away; Layla was still sitting in her chair with her arms crosses, she didn’t look annoyed, but she definetly didn’t look pleased either.
“I’m glad I could help, but your desires for each other are no business that I need to see.”
Jin bowed embarrassed, “sorry, thank you so much for your help!”
Layla waved her hand towards the door, “don’t mention it, leave and go someplace where you can’t be seen to do your funny business.”
Ueda bowed also and said thank you before he left with Jin out the door, behind them they could hear Layla say, “Remember, a price will be needed to be paid in the end! Be careful!”
**********
Jin and Ueda had barely gotten into Jin’s apartment before they had forcefully attacked each other; Jin lifted Ueda up in his arms while trailing kissed down his jaw line and carried him to the bedroom, Ueda groaned in pleasure and tightened his grip on Jin’s shirt.
Jin laid him gently down on the bed and they both got rid of their clothes quickly, Ueda moved his fingers up and down Jin’s toned body, he softly took one of his nipples in his mouth and bit it; Jin groaned and grabbed Ueda’s thighs and spread them apart, Ueda pulled Jin closer and wrapped his slender legs around Jin’s hips.
“I-I want y-you…!” Gasped Ueda, Jin smiled and pressed his lips to Ueda’s he greedily moved his tongue across his lips and Ueda parted his lips so Jin could get in; he moved his tongue searched every part of Ueda’s mouth and got several moans in return.
Jin smirked and grabbed Ueda’s length with one hand; Ueda broke the kiss and gasped in surprise.
“Feel good?”
Ueda nodded, his face was flushed and he looked embarrassed away.
Jin laughed and said, “Think about it, a thousand year old virgin!”
Ueda smacked Jin’s head playfully, “Shut up!”
“What do you want me to do, prince?”
“Make love to me, like you’ve never done it before…”

Jin gently took Ueda’s chin in his hand so they were looking at each other, Jin looked into those beautiful brown eyes; the eyes that took him more than a thousand years to realize how much he loved them.
He didn’t care about the past, past is past, nothing can change what had happened, they were here right now; nothing else mattered, he knew he truly loved Ueda, it was a beautiful thing.
That night was the most beautiful, passionate and loving night that both Jin and Ueda would ever remember, for the rest of their lives; the bonds between them had grown stronger.
