I guess everyman has his price...
So it's been awhile since I've updated this thing. Thought about it lots of times and just never manage to get around to it. Got plenty to talk about though.
The last couple weeks haven't been so bad. After getting screwed out of my 4-day weekend I tried to take for my birthday I pretty much waged war on the command. Figured if they didn't think I was worthy of taking some time off for my birthday, then I was going to make sure they were following all the rules concerning us having time off. Still have yet to see that 4-day chit come back disapproved, but whatever.
I managed to make it to Buddha's eventually for a night of Karaoke Revoloution, Guitar Hero, and drinking. It was a really goodtime, and the first time since I've been here that I've actually been able to stay over there because I didn't have duty the next day.
Got some cool stuff for my birthday and all in all everything wasn't too bad. Best part being when Meggers said she was coming to visit from the 11th to the 18th of July. I'm looking forward to the time off, because I requested a bunch of special liberty for that, seeing as how I can't really afford to take leave because I need to save it for next summer when we get married.
Things were going alright until I managed to lose a book that I'm in charge of last month. I'm the person in charge of all of our confidential books in my plant, and for the life of me couldn't find a couple books. That got everyone in a tizzy, way more then it should, but this is the Navy. We did manage to find it though this week, but sadly it was in a spot I had checked numerous times, so I looked like an ass anyways.
Then, I informed the roomies that I was moving out at the end of July. Getting an apartment with Cain and someone else, not sure who yet. Basically, it means the difference between paying $330 a month when I start getting BAH, and paying $500-600 a month. I need all the money I can get, so clearly it's better to move out. Not to mention, Aque is driving me nuts.
Thought everything was fine, until my LPO asked to talk to me. Asked me if I had money issues, explained I was getting by, then he mentioned the roommates. Apparently decided to take it upon themselves, namely Aque, to inform their chain of command of all the money that they are "due". Now, being raised the way I was, I'm pissed for all sorts of reasons, big one being that I wouldn't have done that to them if the roles were reveresed. They are still making money off their BAH, I'm still doing what I can afford, everything should be fine. Nope, not for the money grubbing bastard. Talk about a kick in the nuts for all the times that I've driven his ass from one place to another.
After talking to my LCPO and LPO, and talking with their chain of command as well, we're trying to figure out a soloution. They will not get what Aque "thinks" is owed, because he doesn't even include the fact that I've been paying bills this whole time, the jerk. Pretty sure we've worked out how to get the right numbers though, so I should know soon how much they think I'm going to owe. I will not deal with Aque again though, as he's the mastermind of sorts behind all this. Screw him. Feeney seemed reluctant to screw me, and you can tell he's almost torn about the whole thing. Aque has done nothing but talk about the things he wants to buy with the money he feels he's owed, no matter how many times I've tried to tell him he doesn't get as much as he thinks. I'd give every penny to Feeney if I could, and plan to try. I also plan to take into account all the times I've driven Aque's dumbass around and he's never paid anything for gas or reimbursement of any sort. Screw him.
So, after talking about it with my future wife, and my parents, and my chain of command, I've decided on something. I've decided that $59,100 is alot of money, that a few more years really isn't that bad, and that the BAH and extra pay will be more then welcome in paying off my debt, and setting aside money for a house in the future. Yes, the man that swore he would never do it will be doing it on or around the 18th of August. Those of you out there no what it is, and I don't feel like saying it.
All that being said, it's time to get going. Going to make some coffee, then head to PT. I've been up since 9 last night because I went and saw Pirates last night at midnight. Decent movie, long, and it definately has an ending to throw ya for a loop. I recommend it. Well, hope everyone else is doing well. Later.
