There aren't a lot of things that happened with my Holy Week... But I guess you can say that they were eventful for me...
Okay. fine! I'll take it back! I think this Holy Week is the most memorable one.
1. Before the Holy Week (March 19 - March 30)
1.1.
Two weeks before the Holy Week, I still had classes... Believe it or not, the semester ended March 21 and we still had classes after that... and the suck-ish part about that is that the subject was part of our first semester! Anyway, this subject is important because it's our SED4 a.k.a. our Teaching Demonstrations particularly in Mathematics...
Last March 21 (Wednesday), I was scheduled to present my demo. And I'm happy to report that my professor and my classmates (my students for that Demo) liked it! How did I say that? Well, they gave mostly good comments! :D But I just bailed on the definition of the angles of elevation and depression... (Hmph! >.<) But anyway, it felt awesome and I seriously felt great after that!
After that, I still have to attend classes because my classmates still has to do their demonstration and we, the classmates, still have to act as the students... so there!
1.2. The Night after my Demo (still March 21),
my Dad (who was still under medication and has to rest for the month) and my kuya, Adam, were starting to prepare to go home to Bicol... And I just learned that my grandmother was confined in the hospital... and my uncles were already having the feeling (I think...).
1.3 March 22 (Thursday), Nami Meeting.
That day was Michi's resignation as the president of PNU-NAMI. There are various reasons why she needed the early resignation but I can't say it publicly... It's going to very controversial in the org...
We had loads of new realization and we even cried that Michi is going... But I still have to respect her decision... I even said that we came from a recollection or something because of crying and about God.
On this day, I decided to treat Nami-jins for pizza. Yup, Pizza! I have no idea why, but I just want to treat them. (maybe, you can say that sempai-Saichi rubbed something on me as her kouhai. LOL!) But sadly, it nearly came as a disaster! But it went well! :D
from left to right: misaki, koumei, sekundes, mitsu, ayaka, shiri and nene (oka-san)
I provided the pizza, Michi provided the fries!
1.4 So, March 23 (Friday),
I was preparing to leave to school for class... My eldest brother, Luke, came home from work at around 8 am (that week, he got a job in a call center AT&T, and he's assigned in the graveyard shift). And then we had this conversation:
(this conversation was originally in Bicol)
Luke (came in looking tired): Do you know what happend to Momsie (that's what we call our grandmother)?
Me: (though I had a feeling I knew what he was going to say) What? What happened?
Luke: She died...
Me: Oh... (pause) i have to go to school now. bye...
---end of conversation---
1.5 March 24 (Saturday).
My gay friend from High School, Ernesto, came to Manila from Baguio. He is studying there and he went back March 26. So he asked me the night before if we could meet up because he's not okay. He told me that we should watch Hunger Games, I just learned that he doesn't even know what the plot is... tsk tsk tsk... The day came and he was with his cousin. So, before seeing the movie, I asked him what was wrong and just as I thought... a guy... Like, a good friend, I ask about their relationship, and gave some advice. Apparently, after the movie, they left... the sad part... he didn't even asked me how I was... He just left me in SM Masinag and didn't ask me what was new with me... like what happened to my grandmother or even my life... what kind of friend was that? hmmm...
At 10pm, my mom and I went to MIA to pick up my aunt, uncle and their families from Canada... We waited for more than 3 to 4 hours and they were not in sight. No one was left at 3am but the employees so my mom and I decided to go home... We later learned that they got to the hotel and they didn't see us too...
that was a weird day...
1.6 March 26 (Monday), I still have class for SED4.
And I'm pretty sure that there will be a lot more classes after that... the people who haven't presented their demo were more than ten... We even pulled a 12-hour class (8am - 8pm) if we have to. Anyway, my dad wanted us to go home and pay respects to Momsie. So, that Monday, I told my Professor (BTW, it's Sir Marquez) that I won't be coming to class the following days because of what happened and my mom and I will be leaving that night. And he even told me "Happy Trip" LOL!
It was 6:30 pm and I knew that there will be more presenters. So, at that time, I picked up my bag said goodbye to tuukyub (our friendship group name) and I even had an attention-seeking exit with a short goodbye and smile to my class of III-B BSMT... and when I think about it... I wasn't there for the last day of being III-B... hmm...
1.7 March 27 (Tuesday),
after a 17-hour travel time (it was supposed to be just 10 hours, stupid traffic!) we arrived in Iriga City, Bicol. and I'm so glad to be home!
I didn't do anything in the afternoon so I watched Kimi ni Todoke using Hugo (the name of my laptop). And in the late evening, we went to the Fatima Parish Church for Momsie's wake. We, the grandchildren, took care of serving the food, buying food and needs and the like... The wake started last Saturday, and I wasn't there yet so technically, I didn't do much...
1.8 March 28 (Wednesday), Momsie's Burial.
Loads of feelings.... But I seriously remember last Christmas... She gave me this bag. You know, the kind that you use in formal occasions. The one that clicks when you open it... Anyway, the design looks like wood... And she said that the reason why she gave me that particular one because I'm going to be teacher... I just love it! I just really appreciate that she gave me that... She said that that was the thing that she would like to give me. And it kept rolling in my head when I remember her...
I'll just give you pics to make you see what happened...
after more than 20 years, my grandparents celebrated their wedding anniversary
around 20 cousins, Aki (the child Momsie took care) and Kuya Bong (my cousin's boyfriend) in Shakey's
1.9 March 29 (thursday), final day in Bicol.
My mom even suggested that I stay because I have nothing to do in Manila anymore... My classes officially ended March 28 and I wasn't even there...
But I don't have anything to do there either... So I decided to go back to Manila with my parents. The last day was quite boring. My parents, brother and uncles and aunt (they're nine sibling, with only one girl) went to mass in the morning... and in the afternoon, Adam and I watched Rio using Hugo and conversations with my mom's siblings...
That's basically what happened... and I really miss Momsie... quite eventful in that two weeks right... anyway...
Thank you so much for reading all the way through if you did! I really appreciate it! leave a comment so that I know that you read it! thanks so much!
part 2 on the way! :D
