Update big time
Yeah, so I haven't posted anything in a while, since the 8th of August I believe. Well, I got some news for a change. Also have some random things that I have add in as well that I have done the past couple of weeks. Well, to start, on Thursday the 10th I headed upstate to the mall to spend a bit of the day with my friend Kathleen.
After that I went home to hang out with Phil until he had to go to bowling. That Saturday I went to the family vacation house on Long Island. I was there for the weekend, until Tuesday morning with my parents, my Aunt, and my cousin. Out on the island I spent a little time on the beach, played two rounds of golf, got bit by a mosiquito (on Sunday night), and finally overcame that little fear I had of flying a kite out there. Last time I tried that, I got robe burns on my hands from the string when the kite got away from me and I was trying to get it back. That hurt big time, I can still feel the pain in my hand when I think of it now.
Things were somewhat quiet that week. My mom was off from work the entire time so we did a couple of random things together. We went shopping a couple of times, had lunch out, even cooked lunch one after noon. We made wonton soup and it was great! Wednesday I went to New Paltz in the morning to meet with someone at the Career Center. I also spent time with Phil on Thursday afternoon and a bit more that evening when I had to sub for his mom at bowling. Bowling was interesting since we got stuck on some lanes that kept on eating our bowling bowls and I had a 160 average. That's going to be a bit lower this week when I have to bowl again at least. We did manage to win three points so yay for that. Also on Thursday, earlier in the day, I went to the doctors office. Remember that mosiquito bite I got on Sunday? Well, where I got bit, the skin in the area turned bright red. Went to the doctor and she says it looks okay, not infected or anything. They're doing blood work to test and make sure things are okay though, like a Lyme test. Plus, I got to go back in a month to get rechecked and more blood work! Blah!
This weekend was quiet. Most of the time was spent at home, relaxing. I finished Dragon Quest VIII, but only the first part of it to get the okay ending. I'm still working on the last parts to get the good ending though. Just in time too, cause I got the new Final Fantasy VII game in the mail to start playing next. I also heard from the union, from my teaching assistant job. The district president got some information from me and she said she would look into things for me. I doubt that is going to help but nothing much I can do otherwise to get things working in my favor.
Today was a pretty busy day. After getting a new resume and cover letter ready to go, I started to call and ask around for business positions. I got really lucky too, calling a temp agency around 2:30 and they call me back at 4:30 for a potential position, with an interview at 6 this evening! Talk about fast placement! I also had dinner and spent time with Laura this evening. She gave me a better idea of what her place is going to look like, the one that her and Rodney are buying. Looked at paint together that she would like to go with. Sounds nice. She also took the offer I gave her, so that means Laura is going to move into the spare bedroom during the week for a couple of weeks until the closing takes place on the condo they just bought, so she doesnt have to pay for another month of rest and might only be there a week or two.
