Haven't posted (nor read here infact) much lately, but for good reason. I've been working on going a bit beyond my new year's resolution goal, reaching a weight of 160 (from my original of 202 on January 2). Haven't progressed much in the past two weeks though, so I think I'm going to settle for my current weight of ~163, which I am still quite happy with. I think the last time I was around that weight was freshman year of college, but I'm certainly much healthier now than I was then (much more muscle, tremendously better diet).
The approach I took to losing almost 40 lbs in ~4 months:
* 35 minute runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (sometimes skipped Friday)
** kept a goal of reaching 5k within 25 mins, which I accomplished about a month ago
* rock climbing for 2 - 3 hours Tuesday and Thursday. Sometimes I would follow this up with 20 mins on the elliptical machine
* yogurt or cereal or oatmeal for breakfast with orange juice
* salad for lunch and dinner
* 300 - 400 calorie smoothie around 3 or 4 pm
* various fruits as snacks
