"Napoleon no Mura", starring Karasawa Toshiaki, will air on TBS.
"Napoleon no Mura" is based off of Takano Josen's "Roma Houou ni Kome wo Tabesaseta Otoko Kaso no Mura wo Sukutta Supa Koumu wa Nani wo Shitaka?" that was published in 2012. It centers around efforts to reform a failing village.
Karasawa Toshiaki, who also starred in "Roosevelt Game" (TBS) and the film "Sugihara Chiune", has been cast as Asai Eiji. He's a public officer for Hoshikawa city's Agriculture and Forestry Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Aso Kumiko has been cast as Asai's coworker Misaki Yukari.
Yamamoto Koji is set to play Togawa Makoto, a childhood friend of Asai's. Muro Tsuyoshi is set to play Yamada Daichi, the mayor's henchman. Ogata Issey is set to play the village's elder, Komoda Kozaburo. Sawamura Ikki is set to play Fukumoto Junya, the village's ikemen mayor.
Other people cast include Iwamatsu Ryo, Hosshan, Nagase Tasuku, Yamashita Kenjiro, Hamano Kenta, Hashimto Manami, Mizutani Kaho, Yoshida Yuki, Senga Yukiko, Kajiwara Takuto, and Urashima Koji.
"Napoleon Village" will begin broadcasting July 21.
