In which Platinum's world is actually developed:
Legendaries aren't meant to be kept. They are not meant to be chained to a human psyche. There are always damaging effects to be had whenever a human captures a Legendary that did not choose that person as the one they would be bound to. For now, it's just a nibble in Platinum's mind, an itch that shows up right before she goes to sleep each night. They're dark worms, little tendrils of a life she can't recognize.
Psychic types are also capable of this, though to a lesser degree. They cannot fully assimilate themselves to a human as the Legendaries do. They are inherently good. To share a body, a mind, a soul--only a being who is classified as "legend" and who twists itself to fit the roles it is cast in is capable of the task.
Giratina, stripped of its memories (and given an identity again only out of necessity), now begins what is largely considered taboo among the Legendaries. It was tried in the past, with mixed results. To share with a human a life that is endless, a mind that is boundless--special care must be given if they are not to go mad. That persistent itch that Platinum feels? It is his memories, locked away and now being transferred to her. They make her irritable and moody, violent when she shouldn't be. But it's manageable. For now, she can fight against his intrusion, though neither is aware of the power struggle that goes on daily.
Nevertheless, a balance must be maintained whenever a human and Legendary share, and sooner or later, Platinum will reach her breaking point. But Giratina loves her. She cares for him, as he believes the others did not. And for that reason, when he finally regains his memories, they will work together. They will work together to bring about a world where they are the commanders of their shared destinies.
Of course, Platinum is not the only one. It's a rather common trend for the most recent Champions to hold at least one of the Legendaries in their possession. Sooner or later, these beasts will clash, as their bonded humans' interests differentiate.
