Work Is Taking Over My Life

Yesterday proved to be yet another busy day at work. Went down to Encode to update the database, grab the airchecks, previous day's log/disk/PACC sheet and did the air run. Oh, also located missing tapes for the spot check to be encoded. This was all before Laura came in, lol. Unfortunately, I did slip up a bit. Les came and talked to me...said some of the "to be coded" tapes had already been done. Guess I need to remember that some of the tapes that show up as missing on the spot check are already down there. So yeah, I felt kinda dumb. Also gotta remember that the print off for dub batches go to a different printer *makes mental note*. Hmm...it was pretty hectic around the office. I had to call Jon to see what he wanted to do about one of the commercial tapes...I couldn't figure out the advertiser. Ugh, if there is anything about my job I don't like is calling people in fucking NY that I've never even met about problems that I don't entirely understand, lol. Met Carli, some person who's in charge of something, lol. I dunno. It was kinda awkward after our "hellos" so I was like, "...well, I have to get back to work", haha. Which was true. I did my first log check by myself. Well, did half of one and finished the other--didn't finish the other because of...well, I forget, haha. Printed out a spot check before I left. Oh, and Gainey gave me a work pager. I am on-call 24/7, ugh! But I highly doubt I will be called in in the next two months. If so, it will probably just something that can be resolved over the phone. I hope! Man, I have never multi-tasked so much in my entire life.

I got to take an earlier bus home again, woo. It really does make a difference. So I had my headphones on, of course. Couldn't go anywhere without JC to entertain me. But apparently, that is an invitation for strangers to talk to me. Who knew? I didn't get the memo, anyhow. Yeah, as I was getting off, this guy who I guess was around my age started saying something to me but I couldn't hear. Had him repeat it--"I just gotta tell you that you're beautiful." o_0 I just kinda mumbled thanks. More awkwardness--so I said have a nice day and got off the bus, lol. Well...I guess he wasn't too creepy about it. Arrived home around six. I really didn't do anything--ate dinner (go me with my "diet"!) then updated. I spent like a half hour trying to figure out what to wear for work the next day, haha.
