I went to the beach

Two random facts about me:

I love the beach. Any beach, every beach, I live for the ocean.
I like to take road trips by myself.

So last weekend I had an unexpected weekend free of babysitting (I was housesitting, but that doesn't count) so I decided I wanted to go to the beach. Every year my Granny rents an amazing beach house and I had to miss it because of my new job and not being able to take time off, so I thought it would be nice to take a road trip to Maine. I asked around at work and everyone agreed Ogunquit was the place to go. It took about two hours to get five miles south of Ogunquit, and then an hour and fifteen minutes to go those final five miles since there is only one road into the town and EVERYONE wanted to go there.

But wow was it worth it. I didn't want to leave, ever. It was the most perfect beach town I have ever seen, ever. And I've driven the Northern Californian coast line where there are some pretty perfect beach towns.

I am on the mend, finally, from my ear trying to kill me. I have three days of work and then five days of vacation with my best friend who is coming up from North Carolina to visit me. We're staying in New Haven at my Granny's house and plan on taking the train into New York for a few days because we are both in love with the city. I am looking forward to a break. Work is hard, man.
