Reading that isn't fic, what?

A couple of weeks ago my sister Sarah and I exchanged emails about what we wanted for our birthdays (Hers is the the fourth, mine the sixth, of September). I told her I just wanted a book, any kind of book, a novel she thought I might like, a knitting book, a trivia book, anything, really. On Friday I got her package and an email telling me to wait ( Read more... )

LOEY, THE HUNGER GAMES IS AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING.

Also, read The Commitment by Dan Savage. It was my favoritest thing I've read this year, and I've read like, 60 books so far.

If you have not read any David Levithan, you need to. How They Met and Other Stories is EXCELLENT, and Boy Meets Boy is probably his most-well-known, and most-gay novel. More gay YA lit - What They Always Tell Us by Martin Wilson was good.

Um. I can come up with more, but I'll have to think about it.

I knew you were going to mention Dan Savage :D I have all of his books (that the library has) on hold. I just got an email this morning from the library saying the Commitment has come in so I'm going to pick it up on Tuesday.

I haven't read any David Levithan but someone else mentioned Boy Meets Boy the other day. I'll have to see if I can get a copy.

I'm going to go through your Good Reads while I'm thinking about it since you are the most voracious reader I know.

Well, I do tell everyone to read Dan Savage, but I especially think you will enjoy him for the same reasons I do.

I LOVE Hunger Games! If you end up enjoying it, read The Maze Runner by James Dasher, which is similiar but different too.

I have One Day waiting on hold for me at the library, I'm glad to hear you liked it too!

Thank you for the rec, I'll put in my library wish list.

I loved One Day, I couldn't put it down. I hope you like it too.

I LOVE Jennifer Crusie. I've read Bet Me and Faking it and the Temptation one. I don't like the books she's written with that Bob person, but her romance novels are really good. And I am really, painfully picky about romance novels. There are only three authors that I will read. Thank you for the rec, I'll have to check her out.

It's funny, the same day that you mentioned how dew depressing One Day was, my cousin gave me her copy and told me to read it and that she couldn't stop thinking about it. I almost didn't read it because I do NOT like depressing, but I'm glad I did.

I read all the time. Even when I'm really busy I read a few books a week. I try and blog about them, but I struggle to keep up with everything I've read. My book review tag lists memorable books, though, often with links to more information about them. http://purple-ladybug1.livejournal.com/tag/book%20review Hope that inspires you a bit!
