I have applied for the New York City Teaching Fellows as of yesterday.
Boy, do I REALLY want it!!!!
I would apply for Nashville, but it is much harder to apply for them. They expect you to have taken both Praxis I and Praxis II before you can even apply!!! If this is the case, then I must go to Fukuoka, Japan in mid March to take Praxis I, then in Nashville in mid April for Praxis II.
I say BOLLOCKS!
Praxis can bite my ass! Apply for NYC was sooooo much easier. I expressed a desire to teach ESL, though they are desperate for science, which I couldn't teach if I tried.
Hopefully, my ESL experience exceeds everyone else's. I really want it. So bad! I'll find out in 2-4 weeks if I get invited for an interview.
...which brings up the one and only obstacle: the interview. I can't possibly show up in NYC before March 31st. If it comes down to showing up in person before that date, then I'm out. I'll gladly do a web conference, no doubt.
