Second Charm [Action]

[City!Dead might not have made much sense in Lily's mind but being a ghost does entirely. She's been turned into a Hogwarts style ghost and she's running about haunting people all over the City. Her primary focus is the library, where she's liable to be helpful or down right bossy ( Read more... )

[Snape happens to be trying to ignore this profoundly tiresome day. The best he's done so far is make use of the time to collect potions ingredients. Some of these creatures have them in abundant supply.

So he's now grabbing a book in the library and is on his way out with it (yes, he checked it out). He has to head back to his house now, after all.]

[Oh Lily sees Severus in the library. In fact, she might even be pretending creeper as he checks out his book and heads toward his house. About half way there she feels a bit guilty and fades into sight.]

You ought to stop and get something to eat. If I know you, Severus, you've been working non stop. Tea does not count as dinner.

[Of course he suspects that he's being followed so he's not surprised to find Lily suddenly there. What he is surprised by is that she's a ghost. He pauses to look at her before frowning a bit. Damn City.]

I've just been busy.

Of course you have but that's no excuse. You can stop by and pick up something at one of the shops.

I have spent most of my time at my house.

Not an excuse and you have to make sure Draco is eating as well. Proper food. Not just crisps and biscuits.

I am making sure Draco eats. [He's not that bad of a guardian. Still, he can figure out that he's not going to win this. And he doesn't really want to just say that the dead don't need to eat here.]

I live this way.

So you're just neglecting yourself. [She's aware of the conditions surrounding being dead. She's, however, unaware of Severus' death. Even if she were, she'd still be after him to take care of himself a bit better.]

That doesn't make it any better, Severus.

[He glances away. He knows he's lost so he's just being a good boy and taking her to his house.]

[She'll trail along, content not to chatter at him for the moment.]

[He is polite enough not to Apparate there so she can stick with him and eventually leads them to his place. It actually looks quite nice considering he's the one who has been decorating.]

Make yourself comfortable, I suppose.

[She appreciates that. She has a look around when they arrive and it all meets with approval so he gets a smile.]

It's nice, Severus. I had no idea you'd be so good at making a home. [She winces then, realizing her words could sound harsh.] I just meant that I think you've done a lovely job with it.

Your doubt that I could wounds me. [Sarcasm. He has it. Though it's not at all harsh like it would be with others.

Bringing out his wand, he flicks it and a fire appears to warm the house a bit.]

[The sarcasm has her rolling her eyes. At least it's normal behavior for him so she figures he couldn't have been too offended.]

I must have blacked out the long conversations we had about interior design.

[She does creep closer to the fire when he lights it.]

They have solutions for memory these days.

[And he's heading to the kitchen, flicking his wand as he goes to open drapes to let in light and to cause jars and such to fly to the table he intends to use.]

[She stifles a laugh, floating through the wall to watch him. She's not sure what he's up to but she's going to hang around and find out.]

I'll have to look into that.
