Your face, my tears, the rain...

May 10, 2006 22:23

A flicker in my eyes

The last shield from the veil of darkness

The rain falls softly,

Your face, my tears, the rain…

Cheers to the days when life was simple

When smiles were innocent

And words lay naked and free

While now they are in chains

Her eyes are mirrors in the night

Glassy and forgotten

The rain is pelting

Your face, my tears, the rain…

My vision whirls

The sky, the grass, the rain…

Struggling to breath, to live

And it’s all in your eyes

In the rain…

Love unbidden

Lies set free

I soared, yet now I’ve fallen

My house of cards came tumbling down

No sound in the night, alone

The sun fights a losing battle

The clouds smother him as he dies

At least the sun comes back again

The only real thing on which to hold

My existence is all I’m sure of

My loneliness and desperation

Every smile is a lie

Every tear a conviction

Your face, my tears, the rain…
