Rewatch: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

This time there were three other people in the cinema than us two!

From my experience, it's exactly how buses in London are driven.

It's not said in the movie why Sirius escaped Azcaban and went to Hogwarts at that exact time. We see the picture of Weasley family in the newspaper, but the viewer who hasn't read the book has to figure out on their own that Sirius saw the newspaper, too, noticed Scabbers and decided to break into Hogwarts and kill him.

Also, it's not said how he escaped - that he was an unregistered Animagus and that he kept his sanity (more or less) because he was innocent. But it's a tiny detail.

Did Lupin know about the dementors, or he just carries chocolate with him all the time?

The carriages!

I listened to about ten versions of Hogwarts song in different languages, it was fun. A lot of them has something similar to "double-trouble", but in Polish they had to come up with something different. What happened to the choir? I think they sang in a scene in Half-blood Prince, but it was cut.

I'm not sure how easy it is to figure out who Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs are. There are enough clues, I think, and it sort of fits that it's not directly said, as the Marauders's nicknames were secret when they were at school.

The students wear their uniforms differently. We have the proper look, messy ties, rolled up sleeves... It looks realistic.

Malfoy is handsome! He looks best in the Gobler of Fire, so does Harry. After that, they both start a downhill.

Hogwarts gets even cooler in this movie. In the first two, we only have corridors and classes and the quidditch pitch, but here there's the big clock, the passage down the hill to Hagrid's hut, the bridge, the pumpkin garden and the place with rocks... All the sets make Hogwarts beautiful.

When Hagrid asks who wants to say hello to Buckbeak and everyone but Harry make few steps back, Neville ducks and hides behind the stone!

Filch found the Fat Lady! He was useful!

Crabbe is still great. He doesn't have to say anything, you get who he is just by looking at him. But what happened to Goyle, who's that other guy with Malfoy?

"Neville, what frightens you most of all?"
"Professor Snape..."
"Professor Snape. Yes, frightens all."
Neville's parents were tortured to insanity. He lives with his grandma who expects a lot from him and thinks he's a failure. Many students bully him. He often has bad luck. But his greatest fear is a nasty teacher, a person that is so horrible to him that the fear of him outshines everything else. When Snape is mean to Harry, it's often funny because you know Harry is going to be okay and he even starts to talk back. With Neville, it's just cruel. And no other teacher does anything about it because Neville is not Harry, he's not important.

Alan Rickman looks sexy even in Neville grandma's clothes. Yeah, I said it.

"Your head is not allowed in Hogsmeade. No part of your body has permission to be in Hogsmeade.” I wish it was in the movie!

The scene with Rosmerta is pure exposition.

"Professor Lupin can't teach right now, you're stuck with me."
"Why can't he teach?"
"Not going to tell you. Also, write me an essay about werewolves."
Imagine Lupin's reaction when he found out about the essay!

"For the wizard who conjures one... it works like a shield, with the dementor feeding on it rather than him."
Yeah... But later we see Patronus as something that just makes dementors fly away.

We learn from a deleted scene that Neville lost a list with passwords and that's how Sirius got into the Gryffindor tower. But McGonnagall just casually asks, "Is it always going to be you, Longbottom?" and he answers, "I'm afraid so, ma'am."

"Dear Minister of Magic, my thirteen-year-old student wants to attend all available classes. Can I get a Time-Turner for her?"
"Sure! It's exactly what they were invented for. We don't use them to prevent serious crimes and accidents anyway."

The first time I watched it, when it went timey-wimey and Hermione realised she had to throw the stone because the stone had been thrown when they were at Hagrid's hut, my mind exploded. I must have been twelve and it was the first time I saw a time loop.

This time Dumbledore sends Harry and Hermione on their mission and even helps them. Harry must be so confused.

In the book, Harry, Hermione and Ron cast Expeliarmus on Snape, and that's why he not only loses his wand, but get's thrown through the room. When only Harry does it, it doesn't make sense.

"Give me a reason. I beg you!"
"Don't be a fool."
"He can't help it. It's habit."
"Be quiet."
"Be quiet yourself!"
"You two, quarreling like an old married couple."
"Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set!"
From the three of them, only Lupin grew up.
The howl!

They attacked him, but Snape still protects Harry, Ron and Hermione from Lupin with his own body. If I remember correctly, Harry suspected Snape of helping Sirius to enter Hogwarts. *sighs*

In the second time we see the events at the lake, Harry doesn't create the deer. I don't quite inderstand it.

For the first time, the end is not 100% happy end. Sirius and Buckbeak live, but Sirius has to hide and Wormtail escapes.

This is my favourite HP movie, this and The Goblet of Fire. It just... works, every scene. It's darker than the previous two, but not too dark, it has great sets and you just dive into the story.

Next time:
Harry and Ron can't have a nice ball.
The longest and most overcomplicated plan in history to get a person into a cementary.
Someone steals from Snape again and this time it isn't Harry.
