Today it didn't rain

Jun 27, 2007 21:48

This is only news because the weather service claimed it was about to rain ponies and burros at 1:45 this afternoon. "Precipitation rates as high as two inches per hour are possible and likely" was the wording they used. We then watched the ominous orange squall line approaching on the radar screens. About a quarter hour before it was due to hit us, I noticed a weakening segment in the line. Sure enough, it opened up and passed on either side of us. The very ominous black clouds did not pass overhead, and we got only a brief spatter of rain. Then it was all over. The pavement wasn't even wet.

Our farrier came this morning to trim hooves for us, and says that Tess is much better than she has ever been since he first started taking care of her feet. I guess I'll have to resume riding her now. Assuming that my saddle and bridle haven't rotted away during all these diversions...

Sorting through mountains of donated books at work. Most will be put into a book sale, but it's necessary to dig through them in order to save any treasures that we should keep in the library collection.

OK, time for bed, I think.
