The Mentalist 2x23 "Red Sky in the Morning"

May 21, 2010 12:13

So after almost a year of ignoring the fact The Mentalist was taking forever to show in the UK; not thinking to watch it on the internet until after "Red Badge"; digging out the part of my brain that holds my Jane/Lisbon love; realising how good JF is again; getting more friends through that site; getting back into the swing of writing fanfiction for the show and wanting to marry it's female lead, here we are at the end of season 2 of The Mentalist. Don't go any further if you don't want certain parts spoiled, even though I'm really not great at reviews, unless I get to gush about people in it (this episode is Lisbon's turn :P).

Okay so if you follow me on twitter you'll have been reading my thoughts on the episode without any spoilers. Here however I will start talking freely about it because you didn't have to click on the cut unless you wanted to. And there will definately be at least one whole paragraph dedicated to my love of Lisbon's clothing.

As said previously I was on twitter while watching it and by my reactions you probably thought I was enjoying it quite a bit but the truth is that yes it was quite an epic episode but I don't feel as though it was season finale material.

Kristina, I hate to say this but I don't want you to be dead; this episode made me kind of like you, even if I was shouting "What the hell do you think you're doing you whore?!" throughout.

Now for the part about my future wife's hotness.
Lisbon's first outifit:

I loved it, I wish she had been wearing that to work for a whole day instead of just in the middle of the night ♥ I think her figure really suits the layer style she has in this - I think that it's also shown to work beautifully in "18-5-4" when they go to the psychiatric ward with the checked shirt.

The hair:

Not the best quality, I apologise. I just love how it's swept to the one shoulder, I have so much envy for that hair it's unbelievable!

Another outfit:

Jeans on her are just lovely. And the jacket is great in the fact it isn't full length sleeves yet it still looks smart.

Yes, I love Robin/Lisbon more than anything. She is becoming one of the only reasons I put up with some of these episodes, I wish she had been in this one more. Loved her completely when she was pissed at Jane and took it out on Cho and Rigsby.

I won't go into the poetry part because I really don't know my literature as well as people on my f-list do, so hunt some of their reviews down. On a side note I believe Lisbon knows Red John did say something to Jane but she's going to let him come to her when he's ready to. I just hope he's hiding it for a reason other than to give him more reason to find and kill him because I want Jane to be happy in the future and that can't be solved like this.

I hope the third season is better than this has been becuase as I've said many times this has the potential to be one of the best shows on TV but they're letting themselves down. This episode didn't really show much of the team (as this show seems to be doing a lot recently) adn when they did it didn't seem like how they used to be. First season finale "Red John's Footsteps" was what all that a great ending should be: great story (this season's wasn't), guy saves girls life (we don't even know how Jane escaped in this episode!) and perfect chemistry/anger between lead characters in which I'm thinking about the obvious "Can't you see there's people who care about you..." quote (this episode only had a coupple of scenes where Jane and Lisbon were together). Oh well I still can't wait to see what differences may happen because of this episode.
