Chornicles of the lonely traveller(s) - Day 10

Aug 29, 2007 20:33

Of flying yen and bad air cons.

Unlike two years back, this lonely traveller had quite a bit of bad mornings photos. So this lonely traveller remembered of all the bad mornings photos and thus...

Bad mornings....

But day 10 wasn't supposed to be bad. It was Akiba day! Time to spend spend spend spend spend spend....

After breakfast, the lonely travellers proceed to Akibahara to find....

everything closed. Seriously, this lonely traveller thinks this entry is going to be extremely boring as there are so little pictures and hardly anything noteworthy to say...

Anyway, the shops in Japan open late like 10 am or 10.30 am and close like 8.30 pm.... Though most or actually all shops are still closed there is a long long long queue already for some game release or something.

The main shopping items for that day was looking for good second hand games, figurines and check out prices for the DS lite and a electronic dictionary for the other lonely traveller.

The lonely travellers basically hid from the sun by running from building to building... But the Japanese air con is just not good enough it was weak or sometimes non-existent.

This was where the other lonely traveller got her electronic dictionary. that's her and the sales person on the right. The electronic dictionary was duty-free and the price turned out to be cheap. cheaper than expected anyway. on a side note, it was only in small alleyways lilke this where the air con was sooooooooooooooooooo satisfying.

And the stores in the small alleyways sell the strangest things. or maybe its cause this lonely traveller has no idea what the hell they are selling. Small parts in little boxes and tons and tons of them. this lonely traveller thinks they are radio parts.

So the lonely travellers went from shop to shop to shop to shop. Finally they decided to get the Taiko drum PSP game if they can get a cheap first hand or a cheaper second hand.

Spotted... no idea what was going on though.

This poster was acting like a landmark for Gamer2 which was selling the DS lite that the other lonely traveller wanted. That reminds this lonely traveller, Akiba has shop names either the same or going by the same name and adding a 1, 2, 3 etc behind. And they are mostly in close proximity to each other. Somewhat similar to Sim Lim Sq in a sense. But it doesnt make things easy for the shopper. People get confused... and this lonely traveller seems to remember that the prices are different for different shops as well....

This lonely traveller went and get earphones and head phones again this time. Her earphones dying the day before was one compelling reason to buy a new pair. (that new pair of sony earphones was sent through the washing machine and within two days of bring it back to singapore, it is half dead)

During lunch time, the lonely travellers went and ate curry. Actually only this lonely traveller ate the other drank. This lonely traveller ordered cheese curry. thinking it will have maybe some veggies and some meat in it plus cheese instead.. it was ONLY curry and cheese nothing else...... i think it was quite horrible.

And this is the rapping sales person. And they are selling................................ spectacles, that's all....

And so after clearing Akiba up and down, inside and outside....
