Been browsing through FF.net because, well, I have work up to my eyeballs and need a distraction. And I have to note at the springing up of Ronon/Keller fics ( Read more... )

Oh dear, for me SGA used to be awesome. I mean characters ARE awesome - heck Keller could be awesome - but what the writers are doing ISN'T. I don't watch it because I won't. There. period. I won't. I won't I won't I won't. No matter how many pro - people tell me hey but it's the best season EVAH! No. Because they ditched my favorite character, to bring the most boring character of SG - 1 in, and both the producers and lots of fans said or implied how my hero there - and that is Elizabeth - isn't good enough for the show. Oh well, in that case the show isn't good enough for me. I'd rather watch "Exorcist" than Sheyla - and I can't stand horror movies. Sheyla is on top of my shit list.

The Dan/Jan scene I was talking about is in "Rite of passage", SG - 1 season 5. Too cute!

And yep Ford/Keller FTW, but first let's get rid of already existing plot bunnies before we bring new ones to life!

GW is an evil place. There are so many people who outright hate Weir, it's not healthy. I may dislike something, or even strongly dislike, but I don't *hate* anybody on screen. It's just... weird!

S4, the best ever? HA. S3, IMO, is just as good, if not better. I guess for me nothing can top episodes like 'Sateda', 'Tao of Rodney', 'Common Ground', and 'The Real World'. Now those were great episodes.

Still, though, as much as I miss Elizabeth (god, every time I see Carter it still sends this painful yank through my gut, like OMG I miss liz! *weeps*) I wouldn't be able to not watch the show. The curiosity would kill me.

I know, that's what always bugged me about GW. They say that they have the "right" to form these anti threads, but I just find it disturbing. I've heard people say they hate Weir because she's "so perfect" and then later complain that she sucks as a diplomat, and "makes tons of mistakes" (like authorizing Kavanaugh's torture, agreeing to work with the Wraith - as if John and the others weren't backing her up too!) That drives me crazy. Make up your mind already. I get mad just thinking about it. *scowl*

Now, have you seen the anti-John threads? They're rarer, but sooo funny. Because people complain about how John is so horrible for kirking and deserves to be demoted, since he's not a good commander because of it. (How they managed to reach the conclusion that he's a bad commander because he kirks around is beyond me.) I don't know, I just find those threads amusing. Because on some level, I agree with them (because really, it gets old, Sheppard) but on another, I think they're overreacting. (Oh, so you hate John's guts now, huh? Suuure... ;)

Okaaay. So, I typed up this whole comment and the computer deleted it! *prays comment will magically appear*

Uh, okay, so that didn't work. I'll feel really bad if I somehow double post, but you can delete it, right?

Anyway, so what I was saying was that as the member of the anti-season 4, anti-Carter, anti-Keller, anti-Ronon/Keller threads, I must sound like a hypocrite at being mad with anti-Weir posters, but the thing is, I don't go over to their thread and pay them out, right? Live and let live. But then I innocently visited the harmless sounding 'Dr Weir and Season 4 thread' [which I later found out to be shut down, and with good reason] and there was all this venom and vitriol and just *angry* people spreading their message of intolerance and blind hatred with no basis in fact. Like, someone was criticizing Weir for being indecisive and vacillating and wishy-washy in Common Ground...*haz heart attack* OMGWTFHOW?! I saw her as being the strong leader, who made the decision no one else was capable of making [much as in Misbegotten/NML when faced with the IOA], her decision was NOT to negotiate with terrorists, NOT to hand over a person who'd been co-operating with them in good faith [as Ladon had been, at the time, though given your Harmony review, he reverts to jerkitude- what happens to him anyway? *resolves to re-read your post*] and to honor Shep's last request which was not to give the Genii what they wanted, not to give them that power, not to set a bad precedent. That was a tough call to make, and it was the RIGHT call. No one's claiming that Weir saved Shep, but it cannot be said that she was *indecisive*. And you know, if you want spin, I'm saying that she indirectly helped save his life, because if she'd handed Ladon over, they probably would've killed Shep straight off as being unnecessary to them anymore- so she gave him time to effect an escape by refusing to play ball with the hostage-takers. *takes deep breath*

I wish that thread hadn't been shut down, I want to say all this to someone who doesn't believe in her, lol. Sorry for the rant, I'm preaching to the choir, huh?

More on-topic, like Anuna, I haven't been watching season 4, except for the Torri eps, and BAMSR killed me, because I made myself watch the whole thing rather than the last 30 seconds. Carter uttering the line, 'If you ever speak like that to someone under my command...'? SO UTTERLY BLAND AND LIFELESS, OMFGLAME. My cousin, who's not as in love with Weir as I am, even said that she could've done a better job with that delivery than Carter. I can so see her lifting her chin and going into kick-ass mode from the 'dealing with IOA' or 'dealing with Genii' precedents and putting Ellis in his place, but Carter? *sighs*

omg, I hate it when that happens. I've actually taken to writing out my comments on Word if they're going to be long, and then copying and pasting them to the comment box. I do that with journal entries too, because I just don't trust lj. XD

YES! Thank you. She made the right choice, period. And even if she *was* slightly indecisive, that's just cuz her heart was breaking over poor Shep! (Which leads us to all those delicious angsty post-Common Ground fics, but that's another subject...) People who criticize her decisions are just blah. They complain that she makes mistakes (like when she authorized Kavanaugh's torture, but even then you could defend her actions) and then whine she's perfect. Like, WTF? She's human and she makes mistakes. Not perfect, unlike some people *coughCartercough*

I haven't been watching season 4

You know, I used to be unable to imagine anybody *willingly* stop watching new SGA episodes, but after hearing the new casting changes for season five? I think it's become more probable of occurring in my future... >:/

Carter uttering the line, 'If you ever speak like that to someone under my command...'? SO UTTERLY BLAND AND LIFELESS, OMFGLAME.

I KNOW! I can so see Elizabeth taking down Ellis a peg or two using that line, totally. It makes me squee and want to cry at the same time. I MISS HER SO MUCH. *teary eyes*
