The Kidnap - HITTER

Aug 23, 2010 17:28

Xavi knew very well what Bojan had plotted and how sweet he would be greeting Gerard when he got home. He couldn’t help but wish he had thought of it first, so he could pull the stunt on Andres one day. But alas, it was too late as he had already confided in his boyfriend what had the young striker planned.

He was poised to replicate the gesture, somehow and steal a day off training for him and Andres, although he was sure that would not fall well with Pep. A brilliant idea came to him and as soon as he could figure out whom to call in order to ensure he got the right people involved, he got the ball rolling.

The next day

"Hey Andres, I think my car broke down, and I don't have time to get the any of the others ready, would you mind picking me up?"

"Sure, no problem Xavi. I'm on my way."

Andres was happy that Xavi had asked him to pick him up, he was trying to convince more of his teammates to be eco friendly and carpool. In about 15 minutes, he was honking outside his boyfriend's house.

Xavi got in and they shared a sweet kiss before Andres drove off.

It took Xavi just a few minutes to notice they were followed by a black van. He made no comments though, not even when they took a corner and the van kept after them. His heart pounded madly when the van suddenly overtook them and stopped.

Andres had to break forcefully to avoid the collision.

"What the hell!" he swore.

They both froze when hooded men carrying weapons came out of the van and motioned them to step down.

"Xavi, I'm scared." He squeezed his lover's hand.

"We should do what they say. I don’t think they'll hurt us." Xavi reassured him, barely concealing his smile.

The men didn't have to speak. They just gestured towards the two to get in the back of the van and they sped quickly.

"Who do you think is behind this?" Andres wondered in the pitch-black darkness of the van.

He scooted closer to Xavi and grabbed his side, something that seemed like an arm, almost trembling with mixed emotions.

"I don’t know." Xavi lied and he was grateful that his boyfriend couldn’t see him blush.

He was behind it, of course, he had arranged things with his friends from the Xavi Hernandez Foundation and they would be taken to the beach caves up the coast for a whole day to themselves. Their captors had toy guns and everything was safe, but Andres' fear was genuine and Xavi would have liked to assuage it somehow.

But he couldn't blow he cover, not until they were safely out of the city and he would be sure Andres the righteous wouldn’t want to go back and report for training. He knew Andres too well to risk it.

So he just held his hand and kissed his cheek clumsily, since he couldn’t see and hoped for the best.

"I think it's Real Madrid behind it." Andres said after a while, not without a bit of humour.

"Hah, nah, they have too many midfielders."

They laughed. Andres was a bit scared, but he was with Xavi and Xavi didn't seem too scared. So maybe things would be ok? He didn’t know what to make of this.

They sat in silence, time lost on them, as they were too worked up to count the seconds that were passing, Andres recovering from his fright as he felt his lover's warm body besides him and Xavi feeling more and more confident that their getaway would be a success.

After a while, the van came to a halt. And the men escorted them outside, after blindfolding them. They could feel the ocean breeze and the sand under their feet, and the gentle roar of the waves filled their ears, so they both had a good idea where they were. But they didn't say anything and neither did their kidnappers, as if they had all been bound to a vow of silence.

They were pushed somewhere inside and then heavy booted steps moved away quickly and the two Barça players were left by themselves.

Xavi knew it was time so he reached for his lover and embracing Andres tightly, he whispered in his ear.

"Happy anniversary!"

He then removed their blindfolds and looked around. Andres was a little overwhelmed. He blinked and looked at their surroundings and then at Xavi, then back around him, before he finally managed to speak up.

"The beach caves? This was your idea?" he breathed out in shock and awe.

Looking around, they saw a table set for two in the farthest part of the cave they were in, with platters covered with silver domes and even a burning candle.

"Yes. Do you like it? We get the whole day for ourselves." Xavi beamed with pride.

"Aren’t we going to get into trouble? Maybe we should call Pep…" Andres commented, all worried.

"Shh. Don't say another word." Xavi silenced him with a kiss. "I told them it's our anniversary. Everything is taken care of." He explained matter of factly.

"But it's not our anniversary, is it?" Andres said, but he was grinning.

Xavi chuckled.

"Does it matter?"

Of course it didn’t matter, and Andres proved that by kissing Xavi sweetly. They intertwined hands and looked at the beautiful sea outside, and a bit of sun shining.

"Why though?"

Andres was too rational at times and Xavi knew he would have to reveal his motives.

"I wanted a day just for us, because I helped Bojan steal one for him and Gerard and I felt we deserved it too."

Andres broke into laughter and taking Xavi's hand in his, placed soft kisses on his open palm.

"You’re amazing, you know that?"

"You make me amazing. I'd be so ordinary without you…"
