Big Bang Art
I had the awesome luck of choosing one of my favorite authors from last year’s Big Bang to do art for this year and she definitely didn’t disappoint.
rocketbalm wrote a fantastic original story that's beautifully paced and just a great read. So go read it!!
Title: Sound Perception

Summary: Jared’s life has never been complicated. He flies by the seat of his pants and makes the best of whatever he gets. Jensen lives a reclusive and controlled life. Not by choice, but borne out of necessity. When their worlds collide, it isn’t pretty but somehow they make it work. When Jensen’s past catches up with him, nothing is certain anymore. With the odds stacked against them, can they find their way back to one another or did they even know who each other really was to begin with?
I had so much fun doing art for this story I had to stop myself several times from starting another new image.
I did a cover art, that’s more like a poster and a banner type piece, for overall feel. Also, I liked how Chad and Alona worked for a security firm and wanted to give them their own representation. I have absolutely no idea why I went with the blue and pink color scheme, but it stuck with me from the beginning and I carried it through. I really liked how the colors could convey the wonderful love story unfolding as well as the undercurrent of danger.
For the first time ever I tried dividers and that was most definitely a learning experience.
