Roger Waters <3 "Where's my pig?"

The Roger Waters show last night was incredible...I'm so glad I caught him this time (last time he was here I was in Toronto, living vicariously through Erin). He started off with some older tracks (traffic was horrible for the 10 miles approaching the amphitheatre, so we got there about 20 mins late...when we walked in there was a spaceman floating in front of the projection screen) then launched into Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. This is possibly my favorite album, ever. Carol Kenyon's powerful and heartfelt belting made my heart flutter and my knees go weak! Then for an encore he broke out with some Wall material.

And then there was the pig incident. Waters took the lyrics and imagery of these incredible and timeless songs and applied them directly to the current administration and state of the world. One of his many props is a giant inflatable pig, and last night it had IMPEACH BUSH written on its ass, as well as many other provocative statements which I wish I could remember scrawled all over it...I believe there was a quote from Stalin on there, too. It was brilliant. The piggy, attached to cables or whatnot held by someone below it, floated aaaall around the amphitheatre...up over the lawn...up...up...up...and away into the distance. Whether it was released by accident or not is a debatable issue, but it sure had a great effect.

There were also 8 flamethrowers lined up at the back of the stage in front of the projection screen. Mmmmm flamethrowers.

Thank you so much Hoodie for the tickets, and Pi for taking me and wrapping his arms around me while I sang and danced along to some of my favorite music ever.
