I was blue longer than this was in production!

But probably not longer than it was in James' head. ...

Just got back from the hugely anticipated Avatar movie.

I really liked it. Now I won't go raving nuts over it like some people do, I really did like it. I have to say the animation was stunning. Nothing that I saw made me cringe, which is rare in animations; there's usually a couple.

Character and animal designs were extremely creative and I can only dream of coming up with things as equally creative. The insects as well as the plant life were well thought out.

The story itself was predictable (Dancing with Wolves anyone?), but well told. I called the ending with at least an hour to go, but that being said, I will be buying the DVD when it comes out and hopefully the large box with the extras and not the digital copy of the movie, which is advertised as the second disk in the box (I'm still pissed off at my Wolverine two disk having done that. I want extras dammit and not to have the second disk be the movie again!)

I would also love to own a coffee table Art of Avatar book if it ever comes into existence at some point. (And I'm sure it will. I can see James milking this movie for all it's worth.) I also want to get a couple of figures of it (and paint one of their hair bright orange; have always wanted an AW action figure; if Irwin Toys won't give me a Binome figure of myself, I'll make the elf version then. haha)

I can see Avatar as being a creative inspiration to me. I got out of the theatre and wanted to work on Crypt, or do some digital painting. Just anything creative and those are my creative outlets at the moment. The plot is still not down yet, but it's slowly inching forward and nearing the end. The action sequences will take some time to plan out, but it's slowly coming together.

Despite my caps lock still not working, the typing hasn't slowed down that much, which is good. I was worried about that.

When I am able, I'm going to go to the Apple store and ask for prices of keyboard repair, as well to see if they can straighten some of the frame which has been dented nearly since I got it. ( fell out of my backpack outside my house on the front step which is rocks and concrete). The CD drive is also having some issues. (This is going to get pricey, I just know it.)

As for Christmas, it came and went and was very enjoyable. Not too much this year, but I did get a new comforter so that makes up for it. Also got a AS3 coding book and a graphic design pricing book which I know will come in handy. I also got some RiffTrax files: Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone, X-Men, Fifth Element, Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and Twilight (anything that mocks that movie/franchise, I welcome it!)

Merry Christmas (again) and Happy Boxing Day. If you're going to the stores, watch out. Some people go crazy today in the electronics section.
