Sometimes I have to wonder/worry about my Sunday School kids. This morning during circle time, I was hidding some chocolate eggs for a hunt plus spreading some helium Easter balloons around the ceiling and they were watching me, but being asked what was special about Easter.
The tallest boy, Solomon, puts up his hand "The Easter Bunny brings eggs and chocolates and hides them..." etc etc etc.
Um... no.
So they talked about the stories that we've been telling them since (sadly) January (covered all of Holy Week from Jan to now) with why we celebrate Good Friday and what Jesus did on the cross and what happened three days after and so on and so on...
So, what's Easter about? Solomon?
"The Easter Bunny comes along and-"
No no no no, Solomon. *forehead smacks*
No wonder my head hurts. o.O

Well, I finally got my Easter picture drawn. I've been meaning to do one all week, but had no real inspiration or that proportion and perspective that worked out properly. But strangely, during 4 yr old Sunday School today while they were watching a Easter video (that I personally found grating on the nerves), I started to sketch and ended up with my first picture of Jesus Christ that I'm really pleased with (my first one I kinda cringe everytime someone goes through my sketchbook - bad, very bad)! Although I'd love to make it a bit more graphic and more historically correct, but I'm not that good yet and I had problems with the angle of the head as it was.
(Note to self: Must work on perspective on the human form more.)
