Pen and Paper RPG

I'm having a bit of a problem. You see, I'm starting to get tired of Pen and Paper RPG. I had to take this weekend off, and I found that I enjoyed it. I took stock of the situation afterwards, and realized why. I've got so much other stuff on my plate that I look forward to more, that Gaming has just sort of become a bit of a chore. At home I have my wife and Daughter (who's really starting to play with us), I have a job I really like, and certifications to study for.

I'm also finding that the differences between this group's style of play and my old group's style are vast. My old group, we sat at a table, because we found that playing while lounging kept us chatting about nothing and not gaming. We always started on time, and if there was combat (and there was lots of it) we had minis to give us an idea of what we could see. But those aren't the biggest difference. My old group (maybe it was the systems we played, I dunno) we almost always had a goal each session. We were on a mission, or in the middle of a mission almost every session. We had only a few sessions of downtime, and we really enjoyed them because of that. This current group is less goal oriented, and spends many more sessions doing downtime. This is hard for me because I have so many other things I'm doing outside of gaming.

So because of all these things, I'm finding that gaming is more of a chore then a joy right now. I don't know what will cure this. Matt suggested that I switch characters. My wife suggests finding a different group, one that plays less often. When Lauren felt this way, she quit gaming. So I'm posing the question, have you ever felt this way about gaming? And even if you haven't, what would you suggest I do to fix the problem
