Yesterday was my *coughcoughsputter* -st birthday. I would love to ignore them at this point, but my family and friends didn't let me and I had a great day. Thanks to all of you for the birthday texts, lj wishes and gifts and cards. Mike took the day off and we had a lovely Taco Bell lunch with Camille, which doesn't sound too special, but my older kids don't like TB, so it was a rare treat for me. I'm a cheap date and easily pleased. I pulled Abby out of school a couple of hours early and we went to "Mamma Mia" together. That may be the ultimate chick flick, I don't know, but we both loved it. The scene where they danced all over the island to "Dancing Queen" made me glad to be a girl and may be one of my favorite movie scenes, ever. Love how those old broads let loose and had some good old fashioned fun making it.
Last Saturday I had dinner with two of my favorite women in the universe, my sister and my niece, who I am more and more convinced we are one soul in three bodies. My sis treated at Cheescake Factory and then showered me with gifts. Here are some highlights of that annual event and some other stuff from my day:
I may have to admit Supernatural Season 3 may have been my favorite gift. I made Michelle and Erica sit through the first episode ("The Magnifcent Seven") and there was mostly silence from them but lots of explaining about the evidence of demon blood in Sam and about demons in general from myself. Michelle said at one point "It kind of looks cool when that demon stabs her knife in the other demon's faces". I don't know what that means for sure, but I don't think Supernatural won any new viewers that day, sadly.
Erica is holding my other favorite gifts of the day. Particularly the tree in her right hand...when you press on his little limb, his eyes light up, the owls on his head pop up and down, the jack-o-lantern lights up and his mouth moves as he sings a song set to the tune of "The Addams Family". We pressed the button over and over. And so have my kids. :/ I love him. And I love the black cat bowl!!! He will be perfect with my collection. God love Hallmark (and Michelle).
Those girls also gave me a ton of BBW products that I will use with much glee. I am reading "Evening", Michelle, and so far I really like it.
Thanks you guys for alllll that stuff!!!!
My beautiful sissy, Michelle, and I.
My beautiful niece, Erica, me and Michelle after our cheesecake.
Yay, Mike gave me a new camera, may my other one RIP after being dropped on it's lens. This one is incredible and it will stay out of the hands of my dear children.
Thanks for the beautiful flowers, Michelle and Erica
My other sister, Jeri, sent me this gorgeous handmade quilt, nicely modelled by Alex. I seriously cried when I pulled it out of the box, it's so pretty. My sisters are too good for me, and not just because they spoil me rotten. I wish I could give back even half of what they do for me, I know I couldn't exist on this planet without my sisters.
And lastly, Oh, if it were only true, Jared.....thanks to Callie (
callie_828 ) for this wonderful card! You know just what I like.
All in all, I am so blessed to have such great family and friends. It was a fun day. I made my family go to Cheesecake Factory with me again, which was fun, we mostly chased Camille around the courtyard by the restaurant to keep her happy, but I enjoyed myself. Life is good.
