"Why do bad things happen to good people?"

im so sick of this question. it really drives me crazy. "Why is this happening to me? i didnt do anything wrong." i advise you to skip the rest of this entry if youre easily offended, because im about to go OFF

Sin is disobeying God, so every time you do it, youre basically telling God "no. i dont want to do what you want me to do. i reject your way." all sin is the same to God, so i would venture to say that we break the heart of God on a regular basis. He wouldnt have had to die for us if we were good people.

However, where does my notion that we are still in some sense good come from? I always told you you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of an awesome God. i believe that. God doesn't make bad things. So, all of the good things we are made of come directly from God. I would be so bold as to say everything good about you and I is not from us, but a gift from God.

I don't know if this makes any sense. Basically, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This may not equate to bad people in your eyes, but it definitely makes us unworthy of God and the gifts he gives us. We are not good people in the sense that we do not deserve the blessings of God.

and low self esteem IS from the devil. :) you have the holy spirit living inside of you and you are a new creation in Christ. you have power and authority in that and you should know it! So, we all suck. But, in Jesus it's not possible to suck.

on a side note, low self-esteem and feeling crappy about who we are is pride, because you still focus on yourself more than God. I truly think satan twists our views of ourselves into thinking we are less than capable of doing the work God has for us. and i think thats as bad as thinking were too good for it. ITS ALL LIES :)

i have a feeling none if this is making sense. so im going to stop now. we should chat about this in person sometime :)
