Things are going good in writing-land. My new POV character, Cloud, is shaping up quite nicely. Edits on older bits of TIK are coming along. I've managed to meet my deadline in the Parking Lot Confessional for five weeks running.
It's kind of fun, doing things co-op style with four other writers. Each week we pick a topic and then each of us writes their own spin on it. Personalities are starting to take shape- Amy K. Nichol's Wednesday posts are quirky and smart, Michael Greenwald often rambles down memory lane or into dirty bars on Sunday night, S.C. Green is above all forthright on Fridays, and I like to think of myself as Monday's Srs Bsns. In other words, I'm trying to write the sort of posts on writing I myself would like to read, and my posse is doing whatever they want, within reason. Theoretically, anyway, the experiment is still young.
Last week's topic was Writer's Block, and I have to say my favorite of the four is S.C. Green's post,
No Sympathy For Writer's Block. This week's topic is finding time to write. My thoughts are
up. My new mission is to keep it brief, 400 words or less. This week, mission accomplished.
Now all I really need to do is revive poor old Smoldering Ink. I have this weird problem where WordPress won't accept my password...sometimes. I know I'm not mistyping it. It's very frustrating. Plus I need to find out why GoDaddy parked the site AGAIN (just discovered 5 minutes ago, how grand), and when I solve that mystery I need to back up the site (GROAN) and run updates. Think I'll go sit outside for a minute before I tackle all that bs. I bought a second white plastic lawn chair earlier this week, so now when Angeline comes over to visit and goes out to smoke one of us doesn't have to hover nearby while the other sits. Two chairs! That's right! Gettin' fancy y'all!
