Ah, it's much better when you have lots to do, and you actually have to do it NOW. As oppossed to having lots to do, but for some vague point in the future, with the result that you do nothing. When lots of stuff is actually happening I feel much better. Or at any rate I'm feeling pretty good today.
I made my tutor make me do some work on my thesis, so I spent most of the week desperately trying to get the first four thousand words done properly. Apparantly even when I'm in 'I actually have to do this now' mode, working seems to involve a six-hour period of wasting time on the internet beforehand. But I managed to get it done! Sort of. A large enough portion of it anyway. Featuring the old 'sleep for two hours, work for two hours' technique.
Yesterday was a year since Andy died. Um. Which didn't really affect me that much, I guess. It just felt like an arbitrary number of days after. But I think I would have felt bad not marking it in some way. There was no official thing happening. But me and dashiell met up and got drunk. Which was lots of fun.
I think at this point, enough stuff has happenned that I can't really imagine what life would be like if he hadn't died. Does this count as acceptance? I dunno. But I do feel like... it doesn't jump out at me and shock me anymore. It's become more a part of the background. I'm not sure if this counts as dealing or if it's just I gave up trying to deal.
Anyway..
Yesterday was also pancake day! Lots of people came round and lots of pancakes were eaten. And I also managed to watch the first third of Sweeney Todd (my verdict: It seems okay!). And now, today I have two maths worksheets to do, which I've hardly looked at, which are due in... less than four hours from now. And I have a hangover. I will probably end up doing late maths all evening. Hopefully while going to the battle of the bands.
Bring it on bring it on bring it on.
P.S. Also I don't know what to give up for Lent. I'm not very religious but I do like the idea of Lent, it's like new years resolutions. Hmmmm. I'd normally give up reading webcomics, but I already read a bunch today.
hmmmm
