maybe your stopping you you dont get a progressive life threatening disease?
and you do have something life changing to save up for - a degree. Have you worked out how much you'd save up between now and then if you put it in a jar? (It's the kind of thing that helps me anyway)
that said, when I quit, I did it for no good reason. It was just time. So I did.
The ones I bought (having just checked my reciept) were £12.59 for 7 from boots. On that site, cheapest is £11.99 - so slightly better. I'm going to have a look on ebay and try to get a doctor's appointment (yah right) as well :)
I don't spend very much on them though - I smoke rolling tobacco at a rate of about £5.70 a week. This is still £296.40 in a year, but I think I sort of still want to smoke about £300 a year's worth. You'd think being able to breathe would be motivation enough!
Meh, you're still healthy enough that the difference in breathing isn't obvious as yet I'd imagine. And yes, that's not a huge amount in the general scheme of things. Damn you for not smoking expensively :) You could try terrifying yourself with the images of what its doing to your lungs. Some psychologists who do smoking cessation stuff look at rituals around it and what functions it/they serve, they reckon you have to work on those to help.
You'll remember why you stopped smoking this coming winter when you have to freeze your tits off going outside for a fag whilst everyone else is sitting inside, in the warm.
To be fair, I came under the life-threatening disease category, but what made it for me is that I stopped being that person that got up from the table, for no good reason, to go and stand outside on his own in what had essentially become "the naughty corner".
Save up anyway! I got my teeth whitened, which would have been a waste of time while I was still colouring them yellow regularly. SO many reasons to quit! No reason at all to keep smoking!

You know, plus significantly less chance of dying from something revolting at some point.
