Saw special dentist type person that my NHS dentist referred me to. Have another 5 days of antibiotics which will hopefully deal with the pain for a while.
They said that although they can keep me on the cancellations list, it would probably be 3 months wait for treatment if I want it for free under my current NHS treatment batch.

Option 2 and option 4, in that order, assuming that option 2 can be carried out in 1 - 2 weeks.

When it comes to your health don't be afraid to get your credit card out, like I did for my back when I needed a physio after my health insurance ran out *nods* srsly don't be in pain any longer. xx

I agree with this.

I've been through a similar ordeal recently and ended up being given a three month appointment -so I had an emergency extraction instead; not what I wanted but didn't feel I could carry on for three months like that. I still have to go to that appointment as there seems to be a serious underlaying problem...

oof. I haven;t been paying attention, obviously. Sorry you're having problems too!
What kind of underlying problem?

Well, some sort of gum and bone disease and they found a big cyst underneath the molar they took out -so good job they did, I s'pose although I didn't want it out. I'd been feeling ill for months, ever since Whitby, and didn't know what it was. Had been to a doctor and they couldn't find anything -he did examine my mouth but there wasn't a visible abscess or something like that... the specialist will tell me what's going on and what can be done, presumably.

I was on quite strong antibiotics twice in the last month. Zero alcomahol for flavio for most of the last month or so... (managed not to be o them for my birthday, at least)

Good luck with your own dentist situation. There are undoubtedly worse things in the world, but when you are in the grip of a toothache that becomes very, very difficult to believe.
