yet another computer report
An "IT guy" on coconut oil list oofered to assist me in my computer problems. Below is an edited response I fired off to him.
My cheapie WiFi is behaving pretty much these days, unless I am attempting to D/L and install a program. A one step install from an .exe file works ok, but a two step install (D/L a small file which then D/Ls the big file tends to BOMB no matter what the program I am attemping to installing.
My mess is severely complicated by some setting (or something) I did to Windows which makes most everything invisible. Both IW and Firefox, many windows dialog boxes, many installed programs, etc. I can no longer use either Semagic or ljArchive because of the lack of visibilit. I also have a very strange quirk. My laptop was back in the repair shop on Sunday. Battery charger had been working fine. But now, I get the error message telling me I have a harger which is not working and my battery is at 93% power.
My laptop has been up and running for ~30 hours. When I plugged it in, I got the warning telling me I had 93% power. Now I get the exact same error message. I cannot imagine my laptop (Dell Studio 17) has a super huge battery which does not lose even 1% of power over 30 hours.
