A while back I posted a question about my extra-copious mucous pooling in the back of my throat while sleeping these days to the oxalate list. Below is what I posted, then a bunch of responses from other list members.
===================================================
I don't remember reading about this particular form of dumping here on this list. So far it is just conjecture.
I take in 60+ grams of NOW whey protein isolate per day (~30 grams, twice daily). Also heavy cream. I get lots of mucous. Post nasal drip does not cause a sore throat and it protects me when I am near smokers, so I have no interest in getting rid of the mucous.
I recently noticed a pattern which may be oxalate related. When I go thru a heavy oxalate dump. I get huge amounts of mucous pooling in the back of my throat while sleeping. Probably more than a teaspoon full, but not more than a tablespoon full. I break sleep 10 or 20 times a night to hack it up into my mouth, add water, and swallow. If it does contain lots of oxalate, I probably should be spitting it out rather than swallowing.
Has anyone else noted a correlation between oxalate dumps and lots of mucous dripping into the back of the throat?

Yes. about 2 months ago I started what I referred to as a dump...I am just starting, so who knew? over a weeks worth of gut issues, i.e. frequent movements both loose and/or hard, general uneasy gut, AND constant mucus dripping down the back of my throat or being available to blow out my nose, day and night. Huge amounts, but not exactly congested in regards to breathing. Generally only on one side at at time, woke up many times a night just like you.

Yes, I get mucous

My kids both have a very suspicious kind of cold right now - very "barky" or croupy and lots of mucus seeming to move. Not just nasal mucus though - mucus from the lungs too.
I definitely associate this with oxalate.

my nose drips when the dumping is very bad.

Alobar, One of my son's biggest oxalate symptoms is post-nasal drip and difficulty breathing while sleeping.

Yes, for some it apparently is just that. It makes sense biologically, for the lungs contain transporters that regulate fluid balance that are influenced by oxalate. Oxalate has also been implicated as involved in both asthma and COPD, so we know it gets there to the lungs, and that it can be a problem there.
