A lovely b'day
Today I heard from my brother, mom and dad, had dinner with my girlie and amazing husband, got some adorable gifts, put up some Christmas decorations, and got to spend some time just "being"... no rushing anywhere, no planning, no hoards - it was awesome. And to top it off, there's a blanket of snow outside - only about an inch, but enough to give that quiet-hush that I love.
After dinner, Michael started a fire, which we're all (3 people, 3 cats) enjoying - and then we got out the marshmallows and toasted a few.
All in all, not a bad way to turn 46!
And lookee at my new icon (twirls to show it off) .. isn't it purty? Thank you so much, katana1 !

Many thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for my family. It's a poignant feeling, because I adored her and she was SO full of life, yet I'm grateful she's freed from her "earthly prison". I thought today of her spirit being reunited with her loved ones - my sadness passed, and I smiled.
