Alright, I think I have basically figured out life. But to explain it, I have to dive into some sort of extended metaphor. Yes.. those ARE always fun, aren't they?
Actually, the way I came across this theory was quite odd. I had purchased a new pair of boots (because my old ones have become quite... worn) and I just got to thinking. Anywhere, here it is...
Life is like a pair of boots. When you first get a new pair, they are very good looking, but extremely stiff. When you try to walk in them, it can be very difficult. You may want to take a break from walking in them from time to time, or you may want to stop walking all together. Depending on how you feel about these new boots, you may press on and wear those boots proudly. Over time, they become a part of you, and grow with you. You walk through horrible mud in them, but you also walk through the soothing grass in them.
After a while, time range varying here, your boots become old and worn. Now, there is a number of things that could happen here. One: You could want to get out of those old boots, throw them away for ever and buy a new pair to start over with. 2: You may want to keep wearing those old boots, and polish them every day to keep them looking good on the outside, even though they feel old and worn on the inside. 3: You buy new boots, but keep the old ones aside to wear when you need comfort. 4: You keep those old boots, because they have been damn good to you, and you don't need any NEW boots to replace them.
Alright.. If you are able to relate all of that to life, then good. If not, you can comment and ask me.. I'll try to explain it as best as I can.. but metaphors are there for a reason!
Now if you shall excuse me, I must prepare myself for work!
